I believe Berkeley has started sending out its accepts and rejects.

Any of you accepted and if so can you mention your specialization?

I hate how they know that you're rejected, but won't tell you immediately. The grad cafe is also a bit misleading since I know we've all applied to "EECS" or "ECE" in most places so we dont exactly know whether the CS part is sending out acceptances or the EE part. I also think that MS acceptances are posting under "PhD" in thegradcafe. I'm just thoroughly confused lol and staring at my wonderful inbox.

Anyone have an update on this matter CS or EE for CMU, Berkeley, UT Austin?

That way I think Berkeley is good. They are sending acceptances and rejections at the same time. So if you havent received either then you are probably waitlisted or your specialization has not made their decisions. So there is still HOPE :)

I spoke to admissions at CMU last week and they sent a bunch of accepts last Friday. But the lady said that the way the evaluate is that each application is reviewed by profs in the requested area of specialization and they accept/reject based on an online interface. Which is then pushed to the admissions dept for approval. So they send out their accepts in bunches. There are more expected to come out in the next few weeks (she said by March). Although she also said that if you havent received one already then your chances of being invited to an Open House are low.

Hope that information helps!

MD0925, I basically applied for architecture...in my SoP i said i wanted to learn about optimization

Congrats on that!!!

I applied for optimizations in parallel architectures. Although that makes me think that I got rejected :(

Hey Everyone. I'm a latecomer to this thread. Check out Computer Science applicants, where are you?! • forum.thegradcafe.com for another related thread.

Applied for CS PhD:
Stanford
Berkeley
MIT
CMU (Accepted to CSD and ECE for Architecture w/ full funding)
Princeton

CalTech
UCLA (Accepted)

Berkeley is making me the most nervous! Last year they notified everyone on the same day, but that obviously isn't the case this year. People on both sides have been accepted... EE and specifically, AI :-/ I had interviews with four faculty members but I haven't heard anything since. Anyone hear anything?
