my gpa dropped this semester will my offer be revoked…?
Do y’all know how to withdraw your application? This is over. I had to commit elsewhere because of their timeline.
Did anyone call admissions yesterday for an update?
Do we have to officially commit to tufts before we can be accepted to the 2021 fb group?
To those still waiting, called Admissions yesterday and was told that decisions will be sent out in “random batches” (receptionist’s words) on a rolling basis and that everyone should receive a decision by the first week of June…
She couldn’t tell me when the next batch of decisions would be sent out.
Did any accepted students get mail regarding their acceptance?
@megandotnoel Why dont you just cancel them after you hear all the decisions? You will lose the deposit money, but at least you will have more options
only 6 of my courses were transferred… i may not attend cuz i dont want to delay graduation date
Which ones were you surprised didn’t transfer?
I havent gotten a single decision yet.
@MeowModulus sorry i only saw the first pages. nearly all of my credits transferred. i’m deciding between tufts and emory.
If I may ask, has anyone been denied transfer admission yet?
@jdirosa 's earlier comment is interesting, I’m wondering about this “rolling” decision process: are they are truly releasing decisions as they review applications or is this a glorified waitlist? If nobody’s been denied yet, I think it points to the latter.
I called Tufts at the end of last week and can confirm that last Wednesday was the first “wave” and other “waves” are happening through the beginning of June. This is the case for both traditional and REAL applications.
I think it’s a little of both. I’ve heard tufts prefers a cohort of transfers that will mix well with the existing cohort and will likely take sophomore transfers first. They also need to fill any open spots which requires waiting to see who’s going to fail. Source: alumni
I’m not stressed about it, just wish the process for admissions was less of a guessing game.
Does anyone have any idea when they’re gonna release the next wave?
Does anyone else find this decision process a bit ridiculous? Why is their timeline so different from all the other schools?
I would not have found it this annoying if they had been more transparent about how they would be releasing results. The Admissions rep will say one thing, the staff members will say another, and then they all change when you ask another day. There is just no consistent information, and it just leaves so many students in a limbo.
@Kafkaki I’m feeling the same way. It’s even more bizarre to me because Tufts has the most transparent information about the college admissions process of any school I’ve seen. They even gave a presentation to high schoolers about how to “think like an admissions officer” and revealed a lot of things about their methodology: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5vqsYFREpM
Admissions’ transparency is one of the reasons Tufts initially caught my eye. It made it seem less corrupt or unreasonable. I hope it wasn’t just marketing, because if it was it worked.
Okay honestly, this is getting to be way too much. I am literally checking my email and portal every day. And I know this isn’t their problem, but if you say on or about 15th may and then give it in June, I’m gonna be super stressed from 15th may till June, because it’s just that much beyond the so-called date
I called again today and they anticipated we would know definitively within the next week
guys, i decided not to accept tufts’ offer. I hope it helps! Good luck to all of you.
