Official Harvard EA Decisions - Class of 2010

haha wow, what a quick way to change the tone :p But, your post should be required reading for anyone applying to H ;)

Yeah, I always thought that Siemens National finalist was a "formula" to H but this year's massacre has taught me otherwise ;)

That and RSI, although I always knew RSI didn't have a 100% Harvard rate.

zogoto, your profile says your 16. Does that mean you skipped a grade or two? Just wondering. :)

Yeah I skipped fourth grade and I have a summer birthday :)

haha awesome :) That ain't an easy grade to skip, man. I skipped 2nd, not quite as tough :p Did you include that on the Harvard app? lol

hahaha no I thought that age would work against me so I left it off, although it is a true debate since I saw a pretty long thread on it a little while ago. Adam, how much is your weight/height? You seemed like a pretty tall/big guy in the SWC pics. I'm 150 and 6'4".

GuitarMan I think he's calling you fat.

lol aww. I think it would have helped. Performing so well amongst a group of peers older than you (both in school and Siemens, for me). I think my guidance counselor mentioned it in the recommendation but I didn't want to put it in the main app. No good place to just sorta sneak it in.

And I'm probably 5'10" or so but I haven't checked in a while. And I don't want to say how much I weigh, sorry :p All I know is I weigh a lot more than I probably should. And I somehow look a lot slimmer than I probably should. Maybe all the fat that would otherwise go to my stomach is going to my brain, helping me process astrophysical mysteries.....hmm

Duality--If he is, I think he wants to mess. So I'll just have to mess back. ~beats chest~

holy crap you are only days older than me

haha no I'm not calling you fat. I was just wondering.

Half a month late, but what the hell? I feel like procrastinating stuff I actually have to do...

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
Congratulations to everyone who got in. Those who were deferred: Good Luck. Wootangs, and see you in the Yard. ;)

Congratulations. What was your courseload like? Were those music competitions national or international?

musikgirl...that's hard to imagine...

does winning a beauty pageant count as rare?

sigh...i'm a very unstereotypical asian, not because i have better/more unique ec's, but because i don't have anything that they have(ec's, gpa, scores..._)

I did National Flute Association competitions, State Orchestra, played in masterclasses. I was pretty committed because up until Junior year, I wanted to go to Juilliard/ Curtis, but face it, Harvard's got 10% admittance. There are literally hundreds of flutists auditioning for one or two entrances at Juilliard each year. I don't think Curtis even had openings one year. 0-2% vs 10%? yeah...

I took what I thought to be a pretty heavy courseload, basically filling my schedule w/ APs, but compared to some of the crazy ppl on this board, I'm slacking bigtime. ;)

This yr: AP French, AP Chem, AP Euro, AP Eng 12, AP Calc "III," Honors Physics
Last yr: AP Biology, AP American, AP Eng 11, AP Calc BC, Honors French IV, Honors Chemistry

I was accepted to Harvard at age 13.
My PSAT scores were:
Reading:380
math:490
Writing:400

Did you get good recs from your sixth grade science teacher?

No, the counselor, who was over the PSAT, gave the recs.

Heartwarming essay about block-arranging?
