i saved $100 on my car insurance by switching to geico.

I was going to save more but my Harvard app was due. Oh yeah, also Family Guy was on.

Family Guy stinks. Fairly Oddparents rocks.

They both rock! The former more than the latter (considering our age)! But, hey I get a good laugh from both! :)

i thought i was th only on who watched the latter!

So, what other schools did Harvard admits get into? If you were deferred or rejected, did you get into other respectable schools? I was rejected from Harvard (after being deferred EA). I was passive on their deferred list though. I waited until RIGHT before decisions to send in my updates. Oh well.... Fortunately I was accepted at Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Williams, Amherst, and a few other nice schools. How about the rest of you? Is anyone comparing Harvard and another Ivy? POST ABOUT IT! WE CAN HELP YA OUT! In any case, good luck!

-Jon ;)

APDoolittle, we are in sorta the same boat, but I was accepted to Harvard. But I was also accepted to WashU, Northwestern, Williams, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, Pomona, and some others too. I have narrowed it down to Harvard and Columbia (if I don't change my mind tomorrow), but it is really difficult.

Do you have any advice for freshmen/sophomores who want to go to Harvard, hotpiece101?

hahahaha, i have no advice really. um, i would just say that this website is very misleading. it makes you believe that you have to have all 800s and be in a ton of extracurrics, but really, all you have to be is a devoted student, who is passionate about their extracurrics. But with that, don't be so devoted that you miss out on high school and being a kid. so i hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the advice. Rest assured that I am certainly having fun! Congrats on the acceptances by the way!

It wouldn't hurt to to be muy bonita por ejemplo de hotpiece101 en mi opinion.;)

i absolutly want to go to harvard, but my grades have been less than spectacular(3.6 UW and a 83 on the PSAT) looking at this thread makes me feel a little less hopful. im a soph so i figure i have a bit of time to work it up. can i rely on extracuriculars? i go to a public school/conservatory for visual arts but i get the feeling that they would prefer musicians. im also involved with a few political things like future voters and some at my school.

meh ill start a chances thread one of these days, but is there any advice for now?

My advice is, you'll never know unless you try, but don't hold your all your hopes on Harvard. Even the most perfect candidates are rejected by the thousands. No one really knows what they're looking for, but try your best to keep up your grades and do meaningful ec's. If you're an outstanding candidate, my hunch is that they look beyond test scores.

would two C's be overlooked if other things are outstanding (on a scale of 1-10, 10 most outstanding, 8)?

Hello, I am a junior.
hmm, I'd just like to ask here briefly how my resume looks compared to those who got accepted to Harvard.
pros: 2400 on SAT, wins at international, national piano competitions and charity concerts, probably the toughest schedule in all of my school (which is extremely competitive)
now the bad: probably will end up with 3-4 Bs (have 2 so far and this semester looks bit grim) in my high school career, mediocre at best recommendations, SAT IIs are still up on the air.

I am seeking honest opinions.
Thank you

hey, thanks lotsofcurls2006. im also looking at some art schools and some local universities. but since i want to major in political science harvard seems to be on top of that even with the current drama.

Yubi--Congrats on getting in! Just try to avoid the big F (felony) and you should be fine ;)

I'm not going to Harvard.

Thank yoooou! =) I didn't get iiiiin ;____; or you meaaaaan....?

shoenberg- you might do better to read the official stats thread for admitted/rejected/waitlisted students
