congratulations to you guys

Everyone in the class of 2010 are going to be Freshman nextyear, We are very fortunate to make Harvard.

i'm getting so nervous.. especially since my EC's have been requiring so much more attention as the years go on and my position leads to more responsibilities. there's quite a noticeable decline in my averge since freshman year =( i feel like i'm losing and losing.. ! i wish i could join in the ranks of you guys this coming year! i hope that passion and talent wins over academic performance.. although of course of course, harvard admits have both.. the fight will only continue!

^ random post lol !

congratz to everyone!! =) you're all so lucky not in the sense that luck brought you there, but.. i don't know lol luck is just a happy dappy word =D have fun at harvard!

Just one question: How do you guys balance academics and extracurriculars so well?

i'm guessing they learn to live without sleep

No, colleges determine whether you will be rich or poor when you grow up. People who go to ivy leagues will be rich and succesful in life... People who go to inferior colleges don't

Heheh. True.

Hey, I think I want to go to Harvard...for application...what do you think made your essay so good...was it content, length, emotion?

Hey, I also live in a rural town in southwest VA...do u mind posting the town where you live? Also, what made you decide to attend Harvard..

So in your opinion, what is the single most important factor in determining an applicant's admission status?

Another question, does an alumni parent play a role in admission?

"So in your opinion, what is the single most important factor in determining an applicant's admission status?"

Grades. First thing they look at. Personal qualities, etc. are all very important -- but it doesn't matter what a great person you are if you don't have the grades to back it up.

"Another question, does an alumni parent play a role in admission?"

Yes, some. But I wouldn't ever rely on that as a major determining factor.
