Wow, you are like my twin in terms of stats.

I don't think duality is being serious :p

Hey, Black people in harlem can be Jewish ya know....

wow, that was weird, i just pictured mr. ecko from lost wearing a yamukah.

Hey twin nice to finally run into you . . .

Opinion on which: your possible hooks or Mr. T and the Torah?

Re: the former, jeewhiz. I only started one club and the drama people wouldn't let me in. Not cute enough :(

haha, likewise. There is alot of similarities in our hooks.

Is being really short a hook? I think it'd make for a good overcoming-obstacles essay.

What about having bad grammar as a pet peeve, or being able to wear heels 24/7 without discomfort (and being known as The Girl Who Always Wears Heels)?

I might be writing for an online compilation website soon, too.

Do any of these work? hahah.

sorry uh, I think someone has already written on the topic of being really short(4'11)-check out Princeton Review's 365 best essays(or something like that). it's quite good. no, in fact, it is amazing.

What if I combine being really short (5', although some people say I look like I'm 4'11") with the wearing-heels-all-the-time thing? (:

I should read that essay, though it might kill my creativity.

don't read that essay.

that would be interesting...how high is your heel?

Wearing heels 24/7 is bad for you. :p

that shows her de-confidence(sorry, what's that word)? so she can talk about that. i think it would be a great essay.

hahah, yeah, I didn't wear heels today and every time I don't, someone either comments on how short I seem or asks where my heels are.

lack of confidence/self-esteem? hahah, thanks!

it seems that people are starting to confuse quirks with hooks

ignore my name but my hooks are
- my love for japanese
- studying at a high school in japan
- tutoring Japanese for free
- and winning first place in my japanese speech competition

^ basically my hook is my love for japanese

Yeah. Just to clarify, a "hook" is a very esoteric and vague thing, but in its best definition, tutoring Japanese for free, winning a competition, etc., are not hooks on their own. Those are just nice little things. However, when put together, they could--as they do with you, Nerd--paint a picture of a truly unique passion that can rightly be considered a "hook".

EDIT: By the way, I would imagine this hook becomes more appealing the "less Asian" you are, for lack of a better way of putting it. If you're Japanese yourself, it probably won't mean much. If you're Chinese/Korean/etc., then it might stand out a bit more but if you're a regular white American (or better yet, a URM), that's definitely something unique and interesting.

is your girlfriend a japanese

How about if you're a half-breed Chink but nevertheless really really interested in China? Are they really going to expect me to tutor Chinese for free or will going to China on trips etc, working in China and writing the most amazing essay you will ever see on democracy in China be enough? Will I be asked questions during my interview on China, or will the interviewer not have a clue that I'm interested in China? (As in, will he/she see my essay)?

The interviewer will know NOTHING about you, but they'll ask about your interests so make sure to discuss China a bit! However, they also want to see that you're multidimensional so don't just talk about that...
