@Juhuatai
I know that both angelofspeed and myself did Siemens; we were both semifinalists.
Did you?

and the purpose of the badge is basically to give you some credit for applying and doing the work, since so many people won’t make semifinalists.

If you click on ISEF badge, it shows all the people who have received it. Interestingly, for some it shows STS entrant badge in addition to ISEF badge. Oh! Well!

It says:
Semifinalists will be announced on this webpage at 3 PM ET on January 9, 2013 and finalists will be announced at 7 AM ET on January 23, 2013

How exactly do you claim the Entrant’s Badge? I got to the part where you make an SSP account but couldnt actually claim the badge. thanks guys!

Sweet, thanks 007
I’m excited, but scared. Looking back at last year’s results, it doesn’t seem like many Siemens semi’s were selected for Intel semi’s. Is that because a lot don’t apply or because there are so many new projects entered to STS?

I wish I had done Siemens because it seemed like it was easier to become semifinalist on that. The October 1 deadline was just too early for me…

I frankly am not expecting semi-finalist status on STS…it would be awesome, but there seem to be people way better than me competing.

Random question: Do they look at where you live when they pick semis though? I live in the Dallas area and there are plenty semifinalists from this area every year (like 10-15+). Do my chances become even slimmer because of this?

Hadiram: Many Siemens semifinalists are competing with team projects that aren’t eligible for Intel. Since there’s no way to differentiate them from individual projects, we don’t know how well Siemens semifinalists really fare at Intel STS.
