OFFICIAL January 2013 Math 2 SAT Subject Test Thread

does anyone know what letter choice was 18.3 for the 6mls every 4 hours question?

But was -4/7 one of the answer choices? And what is the answer about a plane and lines apart from it

@dreamer123
Yeah, I think it went 0.5, 1, 1.5, etc so (B) was 1

@jermeylin
it was a cylinder with radius 2 and infinite height

Wait I’m not sure about this but did anyone get BBB (3 Bs) for the last 3 problems?

I got x^2 + y^2 < 13 for the question about how far the point must be from the origin.

That’s what I got too but please someone answer my question… Was -4/7 one of the answer choices to the slope question or no?

@feminist, again same. i guessed so badly because i had 30 seconds left and i was stuck between 2 other choices, so i decided “hey, let’s go for E this time!”

@coolkid555 I’m pretty sure it was B or C. 18.3 was right

@Dreamer 1623, yeah I got 3 of the same letter for the last 3 questions. I think I had 3 in a row in the beginning too.

@ jermeylin12 I’m pretty sure it was one of the choices but the answer was 1/7

what is this “plane and lines apart from it / cylinder with radius 2 and infinite height” business?

@jermeylin12
I seem to recall the answers were all numbers like + or -1; + or - 7; and + or - 1/7. No -4/7 that I remember

@feminist
yea, i dont remember that question either… lol

@feminist it was one of the last questions I think. It asked how you could ensure that all points would be 2 units from line l or something. Two of the answer choices mentioned parallel lines

@feminist
It asked to describe the set of points in space 2 units from a line. Some of the incorrect answers were 2D shapes (line? lines? circle) and another 3D shape (a sphere with radius 2).

Oh. My. God. I think I skipped a page. Was that question close to the dog question?

Can anyone predict the curve, based on what’s been said here?

@ melzidEril … I’m pretty sure I had 7 in the denominator for the answer but @oscarlany says -4/7 was one of the answer choices I’m so confused

some other questions I remembered:
Stem and Leaf plot
A trig identity
An increasing function
