Official June SAT II US History Thread

the sit in one was student activism, because the greensboro sit ins were run by the student nonviolent coordinating committee, and were the first major protests run by students.

I put student activism too.

"In 1960, four black college students from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College sat down at an all-white Woolworth's lunch counter, and refused to leave when they were denied service. Hundreds of others soon joined in this first sit-in, which lasted for several months. Such protests quickly spread across the South, ultimately leading to the desegregation of Woolworth's and other chains. The original Woolworth's counter and stools now sit in the Smithsonian Museum, but a Sit-In Museum is being planned for the old Woolworth's building where the event actually occurred."

so what is the answer

Raw score of 70 for a 740 according to the sparknotes.

it said specifically 1960 i thought.

what about those 2 questions relation to that african american and the women picture what were the answers

i left at leat 6 blank what is the highest score i can recieve

i'm feeling pretty confident now...watch me screw up all the easy questions haha

Ugh. I think I missed a lot. I left the leader/organisation and the AFL/KoL ones blank. I eliminated two answers on the AFL question, but I didn't know anything at all besides that.

And I know I missed several others (I said iron ore on the Chisholm Trail - you know, railroads, iron... heh; some religion ones; that 1975-85 one).

deus.ex.machina said that the answer to the immigration one was 'less immigration during wars'... but I thought that there was less immigration during wars... and it was a not question.... Bother.

P.S. I'm in Colorado, too. Took it at Grandview.
P.P.S. I've taken five practice tests and my average score was 734.... I'm not feeling very confident about the test, though. And according to SparkNotes online, a raw score of 70 is a 700.
P.P.P.S. To Scorpiodiva241: If you get all the rest right, I think you can still get an 800 by skipping six questions.

Oh well if you look who made the drawing you knew that he was a muckraker...

so i put that he was a radical republican

after the civil war black land ownership did NOT increase, right?

i got radical repub too

I don't think that was right for the immigration graph question. What were the other answers?

oh I hated that picture with an extreme passion. (african american with woman one)

I remember relutantly putting down "African Americans earned the right to be citizens after Civil War" for one of the answers (I can't remember if this was the picture with 2 questions or not)

yea radical republican and what about the second question did it has something to do with voting mybe i cant remeber what i put

deus.ex- I don't think so. I put selective disenfranchisment.

Radical republicans were the people in the north who wanted to punish the south during reconstruction. I put he was a northern democrat and for the next one, i put that war veterans should get rights because he was missing a leg.

oh what did Theo Roosevelt get done...

Anwsers were along the lines

Open door policy

uh can't remember the rest

I thought the answer to the immigration was the one about period of economic downturn.

panama canal.....and was the answer 14th or 15th amendment?
