Official March 2008 SAT CR Discussion

any1 remember the other choices for the flourish central one

I think "superfluous" was another answer.

anyone know the sentence structure for diffuse/unaffected (was it one blank or 2) and what the popular answers were?

it was one blank, those were the two popular answers, but it's unaffected

wait...the unaffected/diffuse was a COMPLETTION?

^^^^^^ yea sentence completion

yes it was

sorry, don't remember who asked about score postings, but I think they post it around 5 am eastern

does everyone get the same nonexperimental sections? if so, then if someone did not get a section that you got, is it likely that that is the ES for your test?

i think there are different ESs, because i had only 3 math sections and some people were sure one of their math sections were their ESs

omg now i'm just ****ed off @ myself. there was one SC...the choices were testimonials and inquiry...and i chose testimonials b/c i thought it was testimony! even then, inquiry is a better choice!!!!! omg my heart just dropped

oh I know that there are many different ESs, but I was asking if all the nonexperimental sections are the same for everyone. therefore, if the sections that are being graded are the same ones for everyone, then if quite a few people do not have a CR or math or writing that you had, then that means that section was experimental. the problem is that I don't know if everyone has the same nonexperimental sections. sorry if I'm being unclear...I'm just really scared about one of my CR sections and it seems like almost no one had it (only one other person mentioned it on this thread) so I'm hoping it was experimental (since I had 4 CR)

ohhh i get what you mean!
i do think we all get the same problems. i would seem unfair if we didn't.

Weren't the choices testimonials or inquisition for that one??

it's inquisition i believe. i put the other one. darn

In the social science passage (double passage) was the question with the "respondent" and the "abstract person" an artificial construct or a tentative hypothesis. I put tentative hypothesis because it was talking about an idea and i actually tried plugging in tentative hypothesis for the artificial person and it seemed 2 make more sense than artificial construct.

wat was the question for 'unaffected' question?

yeah it was inquisition.

was another answer something a double with one of the choices as quixotic? please tell me that wasn't the answer...

I chose quixotic, I believe it was correct

Batman09: Are you referring to the sentence completion problem about the lake or something? If so, I put pristine/quixotic for that one because it said the ideals were impractical. Is that wrong?

nah i think it was artifical construct, each individual was affected by multiple opinions...any one remember a question with the word "bellicose" in it?
