"so to all of you who are complaining about getting scores in the 2000's, GET A LIFE please... you're so sad. i dont get why you are so concerned with getting such outrageous scores? what is it going to do for you in life? yeah MAYBE get you into an ivy league school and you'll be in debt for many years afterwards and you will get just as good a job as somebody graduating from a non-ivy league but a great school nonetheless. YOU ALL NEED A MASSIVE WAKE UP CALL." (sorry, i don't know how to do those quote boxes)

Thanks star91, and I mean that in all sincerity. I really wish I could just be content with my score, and stop thinking, "oh, if I had just gotten 10 more points, I could've had this score, etc." It's really easy to blow things out of proportion and think that going to a top school is the only way to have a good life. Yes, I'll admit, I need a reality check.

Narcissa got banned for five days, but it was a fill-in question which does not subtract 1/4 of a point from the raw score. So with one omit math score is 790 and one wrong math score is 780...I think.

Eli: No... one wrong and one omit will result in the same score.. once you get three wrong then your score will be reduced by another point.. (it rounds up)
one omit = 53
one wrong = 52.75 = 53

@star91 - I was concerned because to get a National Merit Scholarship (full ride to various colleges), you need a score rivaling your PSAT and a score pretty high up there. I agree with you - Ivy Leagues are more about the name than the education. I'm sure you get a wonderful education that you work hard for and may be more specialized than a non-Ivy, but you will still be in massive debt. My concern was for a score that would keep me debt-free. :)

CR: 800 (up from 730)
Math: 720 (up from 640)
W: 710 (up from 680)
Essay: 9 (up from 8)

Total: 1520/1600, 2230/2400 (up from 1370/1600, 2050/2400)

I am very, very, very happy!!!! I didn't do much studying (APs were coming up), and I didn't think I'd do so much better. I guess the SAT doesn't suck as much as I thought it did! LOL! (I got a 34 on my ACT, so when I got my first SAT scores back I was ****ed).

Does anyone else feel that the CR curve was intense for the May test? CR was always my best section...I always got only about 2 or 3 wrong on practice tests.

Also, and someone PLEASE tell me how so many people know their essay scores? On the collegeboard website, it says it won't be available until May 31...

amen^^^

Im trying to decide if I should retake them, im a junior.
Math: 640
Writing: 670 (64, 10)
Reading: 660

1300/1970

I was aiming for 2000, oh well 30 points off. Any advice, should I bother taking it again?

if u were aiming for 2000 and ur 30 points off, there is seriously no point in retaking the whole test over

oh btw, i found out, through random luck, how to see the essay score.
no hacking involved, btw.
just go to the My SAT page, where they have all the scores of all the SATs you have taken.
then, on the top of the page, click on the 3rd blue box that says "send score reports"
youll see your MC raw score and essay score appear.

If you've already taken it twice or more, I would say that its not worth it.

Btw, does anyone know wat the maximum Writing MC raw score is?
on the blue SAT collegeboard book, the chart shows only up to 49...
im kinda confused about that, because i got 75

Do colleges even look at your essay? Because I'm a damn good writer and I got a 9 on my essay, but writing 780. I've always thought writing was the least important section and the essay was disregarded.
