*Official May 6th SAT Discussion*

Flippant ... I'm pretty sure of that.

@mary...

well, it wasnt exactly a diary, but rather an account of a female author who uses her former notes about some ppl at a caf

i had four verbal too... ETS bastards.. what is wrong with them.. i mean, two verbal sections for the first two sections...omg,,

but guyz, what do you guyz think the maximum number we can miss for each section to achieve at least 700??

Heretical ... for the thomas Jefferson as it means "departure from accepted beliefs or standards", it fits perfectly.

anyone wanna start an AIM chatroom as opposed to discussing on the forum in the highly unlikely chance some ETS person tracks our asses down?

the thomas jefferson one was heretical. and i also put growing unease.

the one about the kid and the painting, did he go to the parents for companionship or security? i had security then decided to switch it AHH

Security was right ... its because the child was afraid ... the other choices were downright ridiculous..

lol... did you guys put down the Author (diary one) used the passage to demonstrate her unique technique... and was the (1960?1961?) used to demonstrate her view on daily life expressed later?

I put that the author could not be trusted or something like that.... I bombed that passage ...

umm.. actually I thought the answer was abject-terror... the boy was not uneasy ... he was outright scared... he didnt go in the room when no one was in their and when he did, he hid behind the adults for security... thats really not uneasiness... thts being terrified.... anyway, thts my spin on it ....

@pearfire-- I had the cheetahs, and the two Chinese poets (Caroline and Marcella, I think... lol), and some others ones I don't remember.

@Lakshya-- I put "growing unease"

@truazn-- I put "flippant"

Was the piano one "ubiquitous" or "enigmatic"?

How many E's did you guys get for writing errors? I put down for the one about someone trying to "become" gentlemenlike, and 2 more... also the one about pepper- was the best choice "...not to mention..."

ubiquitous- it was everywhere 100% sure

the thing about terror is its too extreme ... you'd expect the boy to be terrified and then run away from the room ... but he goes to different places in the room ...

I got 3 or 4. I wasn't sure of the one about the wren... didn't know if "may nest" was right, and also the one with "Opposite of" at the beginning of the sentence... it didn't look right.

was the woman's diary the 2nd section?

we should start an aim chat. i dont want to get my score killed, not that its going to happen, but still.. ^_^

for me, uneasiness was too weak....though I could see abject terror being too extreme

"Opposite of " is wrong -- it should be "as opposed to".

definitely security, because she(or was it a he) only dared to stay in the room for more than a few seconds when adults were with her...

for the other question it was definitely growing unease, because she is not really scared of it at the beginning, but it rather gradually gets her
