Official May Sat Math Discussion

"Yeah, I got 6 for the tokens one as well.

10 + 5 + 1 + 1
5 + 5 + 5 + 1 + 1
5 + 5 + 7(1)
17(1)
10 + 7(1)
5 + 12(1)"

OOHHH this question. Yeah, I got 6 for this one too.

yeah having 17 pennies for example is a variation of 17 cents just like having a dime a nickle and 2 pennies.

battlecruiser, what were the other choices for that questions/ or do you remember if there were any choices larger than 6?

I don't recall seeing an answer for over 6.

hahaha csummerlin2008 thanks!! then i got it right because i remember picking the largest number on there=]]]

6 was the largest answer

Did anyone have experimental math? Could you name some of the questions?

6 ways to arrangs

for the token questions....i put 7...cuz i thought 1+1+1+1.....could hv been one combo....

6 was the largest answer.

can someone explain it to me then? they asked what is shared by a and B, (but they didn't say only? does that even matter) cause is 2 were shared by all, 5 by a and B, isn't your answer right there? it just means ther eare 3 things c doesn't share a+b

i'm just confused, not trying to be arrogant

for the venn diagram, could it have been a larger number due to the numbers inside the boxes?

tunit... that is one of the 6 combos.

The highest amount was 6 combos...

highsest was 6, Im 100% sure

No there wasn't a 7 D:

What's the usual Math curve?

if the answer was E, and it was 6, than there were no higher answers. i rmemeber.

no seven, six was highest (6 was choice E)

hpandu-everyone is explaining that in the venn diagram, you had to do 5+2, but I think that it's just 5 cause the intersection of all three circles includes what a+b+c have in common, but without c, a+b is 5. i can't see why anyone would add 5 and 2

can someone pleasseeee tell me if any of the following were experimental questions:

-Ropes
-Circles/area of shaded region
-Sphere/diagonal length question
-Octagon
