Hark! Question! - It seems to me, based on the number of pages of responses on this thread, that there are a great amount of kids that have received decisions throughout February. Is there anyone like me that hasn’t received a response yet? Maybe just for engineering applicants? All I have to go by on Minerva is “Reviewed – Decision Pending”
Admitted on the 30th of March to the Faculty of Arts Applied in November 2014. French system
do they mail us a letter of admission? in my case, for an international student
@avrilunited congrats! what major? Tell me you are a prospective econ major!!
@latxca yes, they do. Where are you from?
Guys I think you gotta check your minerva once again. If it’s not working, I’d advise you to contact McGill. My bursary application was in review for a long time. but I sent an email and got a response within a week’s time. Calling McGill is definitely not a good option. Anyway, let’s get to know each other!! Facebook- Nizam Akm

See ya at McGill
@yomama321 Thanks!
I’m from Brazil
btw, do you guys think it is possible to get a double degree( Mechanical Engineering and Economics)?
@latxca I think it would be pretty difficult because engineering has a demanding course load. But you can ask a advisor at mcgill about it. It might be possible.
For all American students who still haven’t heard back: McGill has a facebook page called McGill Service Point, which I just found, and they seem to keep it more up to date than any other form of communication with them. The most recent thing they have said in there is that they have pushed backed the decision release for US High School students a week into April. Hopefully this means we hear by April 7! Hope this was helpful for anyone concerned about their “Reviewed- Decision Pending” status.
is it hard to get a need based scolarship as an international student?( my family’s total anual income is about 100k/year, but may I declare only one parent’s income?)
almost 40k/year seems too much for most of us
Does anyone know if decisions are going to be further delayed since Service Point is closed both today and Monday?

You need to have a basis to appeal, which requires new relevant info. My son has extenuating circumstances. Before applying, we called and asked if we should mention them. They told us that if he was likely to get in without mentioning them, to not mention them, and that if he was rejected, we could appeal on the basis of extenuating circumstances. We were told that if we mentioned the extenuating circumstances up front, we could not use them as a basis for appeal. Based on your denial (my son’s numbers were very similar, higher ACT but lower GPA), we assume he will be denied, both upfront and on appeal. I hope you got in somewhere else that is just as good. My son got into an Ivy, so I’m guessing you have decent choices. Although we have a affordability issue, so I do not know where he will attend.
Just a kind of off hand observation, but my daughter has bee accepted to multiple schools that rival McGill in many ways and making American students wait past the first week of April was not a great decision. Everyone wants to go where they are wanted and with Toronto surpassing McGill in standings, kind of have to wonder why all the fuss. (My D will most likely accept at a higher ranked school before she hears from McGill - which is the opposite of how it should happen. )
@poetkiosk is your Daughter’s status “ready for review” or “reviewed decision pending”?
McGill Service Point’s most recent post says decisions for American students may be released all the way until April 15.
This was posted today on Facebook McGill Service Point:
UPDATE: most U.S. high school decisions will be released this week, and all will definitely come out before the 15th.Sincere apologies for the wait!
Have any other US applicants who were accepted not receive any physical mail? I was accepted months ago but I’d love to get a letter or something…
@gminor I think I read somewhere on their site that they don’t send mail to applicants. I was accepted a couple months ago, but haven’t received any physical mail. Just emails.
She has been decision pending for a very long time - and McGill started out as her #1 choice but now I am kind of hesitant to send her all the way to Montreal to a school that is very slow to respond and kind of difficult to get answers from.
