Official MIT 2010 EA Decision Thread

too bad many of us are nerds ))

Well, to clarify my post, I meant nerds. I mean, they could be literature nerds, history nerds, or ANY type of nerd--just a nerd :). After all, it comes down to what we define as a nerd? I'd say someone who's passionate about a single field and pursues it in great depth.

honestly, zking, i can't understand why any institution would repudiate such applicants. surely passion is what's really desirable in any candidate. surely a strong passion manifested in one field (given that most of us are only around > 17; i'm sixteen) is just as credible as several passions in many fields. we haven't really had the opportunity to diversify our talents.

I agree...I just hope they do too.

of course they do! take a cheer pill.

OMG!!!!!!!!! MY PARENTS HID MY TUBE AND SAID IT WAS FOR MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST GOT IT!!!!!!!! OMGOMGOMG!! IM GOING TO KILL THEM.

Wait, you called MIT? Didn't they let you know you'd been accepted?

no..they said there is some privacy issue...and i said id give them my SSN....and SHE KEPT PUTTING ME ON HOLD!!! and then like 15 minutes later, she was like: all i can tell you is they've all been mailed. :(

For sure.

Ben told me not to tell you this, but I felt like I had to: they just admitted you so you could wear the costume at sporting events.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

this is sad news: im not going to be able to attend in the fall. i did rice ED...eeeeek!! i srsly didnt think i was going to get into MIT...

If you had known earlier, you could have at least withdrew your Rice application. That's just.. unfortunate. :(

daaaaaamn, that sucks.

i know..i think i wanted to go to rice more though...i kinda wanted to stay closer to home..and i dont know if i can handle the coldness of MA..hehe. but im doing biomed engineering/premed, and rice has connections to the houston med center, the largest med center in the world...so i think rice was more favorable than MIT..sigh i hope i dont regret my decision.

Rice is an awesome school. I'm sure you'll be happy there. But it still stinks that you didn't have a chance to really make a choice in the matter.

i totally agree....i just wish i knew before...
