I've seen LeBron at a few charity events before and after he was drafted and he seems fairly humble considering all that he has in terms of wealth and talent. Don't fault the man for putting on the show for the fans. In fact, what he does is no different than what Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Clyde Drexler, Kobe, Shaq or McGrady do. All great players shine like that.

Don't even put kobe in the same breath as those other stars. He makes them look bad. Plus kobe is the antithesis of someone who is humble.

A show-offish manner? How? By dunking and posting up in someone's face? It's because he's better than 99% of the players.

..and he rapes girls and everything. kobe is a good player, but his attitude sucks and nobody likes him, except those retards in la.

Kobe is the destroyer of franchises. His only concern is the diamond on his wife's fingers and he only gives to charities when there are cameras around- he could care less about the community around him unless cameras are involved. He's alienated everyone and gets mad at people like Luke Walton who only does what he's taught to do during the end of the Knicks game. He showed the league that he can definitely carry his team single-handedly- carry them right into the draft lottery. Oh yeah, he still could not obtain the scoring title even when everyone has deferred to him on the team.

I was really happy that this thread was started so we could talk about the league; but now..can we not bash players and talk more about the nba in general w/ playoffs coming up.

Hopefully, we can get a good discussion going on?

Fine teal, Denver will capture the final 8th spot in the West, only to be crushed by the Spurs, who will take it all. Shaq and his band of "Heatians" will put up a valiant effort coming out of the east, but in the end, the experience and chemistry of the Spurs will be too much.

Don't confuse Kobe Bryant's off the court issues with his place as one of the greatest players in NBA history. BTW, I don't remeber Kobe being found guilty of anything. Also, if Phil and Shaq had their way, Kobe would be gone. Finally, it will be the Pistons vs. Spurs in the finals

Word.

And wasn't it Lebron who said "the aroma is great" (aura?!) when an interviewer asked him what it was like playing in the professional arena?

So anyways, what do you guys think of the NBA's #1 brick mason, Antoine Walker?

Man i'm so happy my mavs got rid of walker's fat a$$.

And another point of discussion: Don't you think Popovich should devote a certain number of practices to JUST shooting straight free throws?! Jeez, its ridiculous how badly the entire starting lineup is doing, and it's not gonna be pretty once playoffs come around.

This season's starters:

Duncan: 66%
Nesterovic: 44%
Bowen: 62%
Ginobli: 79%
Parker: 66%

Average: 63%

Take the frickin Atlanta Hawks lineup as a reference:

Harrington: 67%
Lue: 81%
Ekezie: 75%
Childress: 80%
J. Smith: 67%

Average: 74%

Don't compare the Spurs to the Hawks! The Hawks have to be the worst franchise in the league. Sure FT% is big in the playoffs, but the Spurs are head and above the rest so they can weather the storm.

Can anyone tell me what the three-second call means by the referee?

Duh, but I'm still comparing them to the Hawks just to show how badly the Spurs shoot their free throws. And yes, this will be a big problem during the playoffs

Yeah, they need to get their percentage at least to 70..it would be horrible to lose a game, esp during overtime, due to lack of free throws made

Well during the years of their last two Finals wins, they shot under 70% during one season and just over 70% the other. So it's not like they were ever a big free throw shooting team and it never seemed to hurt them. Anyways, the NBA season doesn't have any effect on the playoffs whatsoever; whoever shows up in the playoffs wins regardless of their regular season record.

I love watching the suns ( saw them against the spurs in america west was bitterly disappointed. )

PS : all those who are criticizing ft % for the spurs, they make like all their free throws in the 4th uarter or OT when needed ( check your stats) .

Anybody watching Chicago? They've definitely stepped up their game after a 0-9 start. I love watching Hinrich and Gordon play, and it's always nice to see Curry actually doing something meaningful.

I've always watched Houston and it's been disappointing. Yao is SOOOO slow in transitions, it's ridiculous.

Does anyone think Yao is the most overrated player in the league? I don't think he's half as good as people make him out to be. Josh Childress dunked on him for Christ's sake.
