That’s ridiculous; UPenn doesn’t have ED II and it’s way too early for RD results to be out. Besides, if that was an ED I accept, we would have known about it ages ago. This is an Ivy we’re talking about here.

^That is exactly what my friends told me after I told them about it.

I got rejected at/from/by Colgate! ( The college I’ve been dreaming of attending since forever)
As shattered as I am at the moment, I burnt the rejection letter and threw it away to get rid of the pain! And strangely, I feel a lot better now. LOL

There should be a thread where we can post our rejection letters! HAHA, it’d be fun!

what’s happening to the acceptances?? also please suggest me if I should attend JUB or not??? how good or bad is JUB?? and is being accepted a thing to be happy??

I got deferred from Jacobs! Erm. It seems like you’re the only one I know of who has been accepted for EA-I this time. What’s happening to Jacobs? I mean seniors took it as a safety college. Oh well, I guess there are a lot of Nepalese out there. That might be the reason why it’s deferring/rejecting this year. From what I have heard, Jacobs should not be anyone’s priority. Nepalese at Jacobs will obviously say that its a good college. Don’t get me wrong, the academics and everything might be good enough, but MOST of the Nepalese students at Jacobs went there because they did not get into any of the US colleges. And when you talk of Jacobs they will bring up the issue of European colleges being better than US colleges etc etc. But the truth is Jacobs was also not their priority college. USA is everyone’s top priority. I mean would you really like to go to Germany instead of USA? Another reason people bring up is that it’s ‘need-blind’. Now, if your application is excellent, you’d get great financial aid from colleges. Why do you have to depend on whether an institution is ‘need-blind’ or not?
You should be glad that you got into JUB - not a thing to be proud of though. Let’s suppose you got into into University of Chicago or Franklin & Marshall, would you still think of attending Jacobs?
In my opinion, you should go to Jacobs only if you don’t get anywhere else(I seriously hope this does not happen). By the way, I have still high hopes for EA II! May the force be with all of us :P

“Let’s suppose you got into into University of Chicago or Franklin & Marshall”

In what world are you comparing UChicago with ‘Franklin & Marshall’ and ‘Jacobs University’.
UChicago is my first choice college and I tend to take serious offense.

Specific, he’s just saying if someone gets into either UChicago or F&M (in addition to JUB), they’ll probably won’t choose to go to JUB. Idk how you came to conclusion that he’s comparing UChicago with F&M (and JUB).

Rejected from Grinnell EDII.

It seems that there are a lot of rejections and deferals this year. I know one who has been accepted at NTU Singapore. Though, he is looking forward to the decisions from MIT, CalTech and UChicago.

Try to read properly. I never compared. Who in his right mind says F&M and Jacobs is better than UChicago?

thanks for the long reply GODFather…i look forward to hearing more from you about JUB in near future…I am also waiting on my RDs now…in conclusion JUB is not that bad…and does it meet the full demonstrated need or not??

JUB is supposed to be ‘need-blind’. So, yes it should meet the full demonstrated need.

JUB may meet the full need but ‘Need-blind’ doesn’t mean that it must meet full demonstrated need.

Once, Cornell University was need-blind for international students but even then it didn’t meet full need…

is JUB’s 3 year Bachelor’s degree accepted in US (for Master’s Program)…and what the other drawbacks of going to JUB?? what are the plus points??

You should get in touch with someone from Jacobs. If you are on facebook, add “Jacobs Admissions” as your friend. Ask them the questions you have. Students of Jacobs university use that account to answer the queries so you’ll get answer from their perspective. Good luck.

No ED decissions yet? I had heard someone applied ED II to kenyon. No decissions yet? There was someone in facebook saying one got into Dickinson College.

Dickinson College : RBS (1)

2 of my kith and kin were deferred from Kenyon and Colby resp.

deferred from holyoke.has anyone already got there?

boys and girls…the discussions are getting cold…let’s ignite the spark again…it will make the wait for RD decisions less severe…write whatever is happening…any extra materials that u sent and all

deferred from Oberlin. I was away from CC for a long time. i can’t believe so many rejections and deferrals this year and hardly anyone got accepted. there go my hopes for RD down the drain!!
