^ Both of them acceptances, I think!?! There’s no reason to be sad!! :)

@ rishav17 I actually applied to just eight haha. A reasonable number I think, but very low for CC! But I haven’t had any decisions yet, and I applied to 4 Ivies so the rest are spread out between now and then :)

22? That’s insane. I finished my applications for 4, and once I got accepted ED stopped my other 2.

Okay so I have a Tumblr, and this person just posted on the Northwestern tag that they got accepted. I looked on (her? not sure) blog page and it said that she was 18, so it was an undergrad admission.

Um…

@Crimson well u were accepted ED. i didnt apply EA/ED anywhere so my list slowly increased from 8 on December 1 to 22 on Feb 1.
@rishav CWRU is on March 9 according to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1455425-admissions-notification-dates-2013-a-6.html post #82

IcePulse don’t read into it. They’re lying. Or they didn’t specify and they got accepted ED and just hadn’t posted it until now. But decisions definitely wouldn’t come out today. It’s way to early.

@JRswish - Yeah realized. They shifted it from 20th to 9th midweek!! Sweet!! :p

And 22 is huge.

@Lolface - 8 is reasonable. I applied to 9. Haha!!
My list originally had 6, but then I added 3 safeties to it in late December/early January!! :D

@Icepulse - Northwestern doesn’t send likely letters(do they?) and if & when admission decisions are released - we’ll get a reminder a day before it, I think. So that Tumblr post is a ■■■■■ maybe? or just someone who’s woken up a bit late!! Haha!! :D

@Crimsonstained - I think you’re the only ED accepted guy who’s so active on the Northwestern thread!! haha!! No wonder, there is mutual love between you & Northwestern!! :)

I applied to 14 (kinda a lot), but 5 of them are UC’s, so 9 private schools. I added two at the very end because I was feeling self conscious haha

when are the regular decision results coming out?

^ Anytime between now & 28th March.

Although 22nd March is the most probable date for decisions!! :)

As soon as I started researching it, I loved it, haha. Never been, but I know I’ll love it. I enjoy helping out with whatever information I can here.

How do we know if we get in? Do they send out an email or is there an application-tracking/status website? I can’t seem to find one! Thanks.

I’m not sure how it will work this year, but when D was admitted ED a couple years ago she got an email saying that her decision was ready and providing a link to the decision.

Be sure to add the appropriate email addresses to your SAFE lists soon, as her year many of the emails landed in SPAM boxes.

Btw, I think this year’s ED came out a week later than folks were hoping, so don’t be too surprised if the RD date is actually March 28th rather than the 22nd (I have NO inside information and would love it if the 22nd is the date).

@crimsonstained - I am in LOVE with Northwestern too. Too bad that I’m on track for a rejection!! :/

@Jaccrazzi - As MomCares said, we’ll get an e-mail with a link to a secure webpage with our decision. If accepted, I guess we’ll get follow up emails with details & stuff!! :)

@MomCares - Hopefully it’s 22nd. 28th’s Ivy decision day - so I doubt Northwestern would release theirs together with the Ivies. :)

Rishav, unfortunately everyone’s technically on that track, since the acceptance rate is so low (Plus the acceptance rate includes ED, which is a higher amount). But plenty of people DO get in, so you never know. Plus, from what I remember, you have pretty good stats. Good luck

Like MomCares said, they send an email that then links to a “website” (Just the letter of acceptance or rejection, nothing else). There is no portal until you’re accepted.

Also, when you get your acceptance there really isn’t any more information right away, just so you know.

@Crimsonstained - That I understand. With my stats - I’d otherwise say that I’m a competitive applicant, but then again I’m an International looking for aid!! It can’t get worse!!
I’ve tried my best with NU though. NU’s supp. essay was my best, I sent in a theoretical brief on an engineering idea, tried to convey my interest in NU as much as possible!!

If I get rejected, I’ll be depressed obviously - but I won’t regret not putting in much effort!! :)

Don’t they follow up with emails on how to enroll, admitted students days, etc if you’re accepted?? Obviously it won’t be right away, but say a day or two later??

rishav17, I haven’t looked at this thread until today, when I perused the first pages, but if you DO end up at Northwestern, you won’t be homesick for food! The NU food choices, especially for vegetarians, is pretty bad (my daughter started eating chicken again freshman year because she couldn’t just eat pasta and cheese) BUT there is a sublime neighborhood in the northern part of Chicago called Devon, where you can eat yourself silly for next to nothing in fabulous Indian fast food restaurants or in fancier places. Our daughter took us to Devon when we last visited, and I couldn’t believe the food, the stores, the vibrancy of the neighborhood. Three of her good friends are Indian or Indian-American, and they go there all the time.

But the weather is really awful :(

@EnoughAlready - I have no problem with food. I eat anything and everything!! Haha!!
I’ve basically toured the world via food. Haha!!

After days & nights of research on Northwestern - I’m in LOVE with it. The only thing that worries me is the chilly weather. But I guess that’s part of the bargain and I’ll adjust to it - If I get accepted!! :D

I love food.

Go Wildcats!

@rishav17, as EnoughAlready said…u have to try the fast food restaurants in Devon Avenue…nothing like that (all in one long street) anywhere in India :-)
