@Classof2020Kid people every year come in with these assumptions ahead of time and are incorrect. For instance, this year for Northwestern ED there was an email sent requesting some tax forms to a limited number of applicants applying without aid. Well guess what, some people who got the requests for the form were rejected, while others who applied without aid got accepted without the form. Nothing is to be gained by speculating; the result will come in due time.
Are everyone’s standardized test scores still showing? I don’t see a checklist, but we do see the test scores.
Test scores and financial aid still there but no checklist.
Test scores are still here.
Just watched a live webinar with admissions and the AO guy said “before April 1.” Maybe they always say that.
wait… they track interest? oh god. lmao. I visited but it wasn’t a documented visit I just went to see a friend but I wrote about it in my supplement. Am I screwed?
@DrSenioritis I would not worry about it. Look if you referenced visiting campus, the AO’s office will take your word for it. Also, people tend to view demonstrated interest as being far more important than it actually is. Last Thursday, I got admitted to WashU with no (zero, nada) demonstrated interest even though WashU highly values having demonstrated interest. Stop fretting the decisions will be released soon anyway!
They jost posted on their instagram that it will be next Tuesday, March 24th
I knew that we should wait for an official announcement. I feel vindicated! Lol
bruh that’s my birthday im gonna scream
@throwaway0324 are you on the Northwestern 2024 RD reddit?
so sad when we were convinced they were going to come out tomorrow??
Just speculating: Maybe they are delaying decisions to make sure that they don’t accept anyone with the corona-virus? Someone else mentioned this previously and thought that more applicants would be accepted from India this year and less from China.
@Maltamilkbone I seriously doubt that. Perhaps they minimized their office hours in the admissions office for social distancing purpoes and so they need more time to get everything out, but certainly they are not basing decisions on who has the coronavirus. There is no way for them to even know that for sure, even if they bought themselves a few days.
Hey it was me who wrote that. The message really made no sense and was insensitive at its very best.
Anyhow, seeing how the situation has worsened, I think that they’ll accept very few international students this time, and probably no international student who applied for aid (like me) fearing travel bans.
I hope y’all are doing well.
@Maltamilkbone i browse reddit but i do not have an account
For clarification, my post above (#272) was entirely satire. Also, @throwaway0324 I only asked because there was someone on Reddit who said that decisions were coming out on their birthday at approximately the same time as you said so.
@Maltamilkbone Whoops I apologize I didn’t recognize that
@Maltamilkbone
ahh! that’s funny, its rare that i find someone with the same birthday as me
