Official Northwestern Class of 2024 Discussion

Thanks @Fh2019

We have not gotten ours yet - I’m working from home today so checked the mail for Wednesday already and it’s not there.

We got it in the mail today. ?

I got mine in the mail today! I live 40 mins from northwestern so that might explain why I got mine faster than some other people.

Good luck to everyone applying RD!

Im applying for financial aid, but have not heard anything back yet. And its almost been a week since letters came out. Anyone know when financial aid decisions come out?

has anyone got interview offer from Northwestern yet?

so anxious for decisions!!!

I got the email to sign up for an interview on 12/20, but I have not heard anything about an actual interview yet.

In my experience it usually takes a while before you hear back from them. Also, not everyone that signs up for an interview may be assigned one.

So quite here lately. Merry Christmas (or whatever flavor of the seasonal greetings!)! Happy New Year! My kid just applied, now we are waiting like everyone else in the RD pool. Does anyone know if Northwestern releases their RD decisions in waves, or it comes in one bunch in late March? Thanks!

@ElenaParent

It comes out in one bunch!

We were out of town for a few days and it was in the mail when we returned, so it came the Friday or Saturday after the announcement.

@ElenaParent my daughter applied RD, also. Has your student heard anything about interviews?

@OH2020MOM
Yes, she had an invitation for an interview, but the dates they offered just do not work with her training schedule, and the coaches will not allow her to miss (National Team in Acrobatic Gymnastics… Coaches rule.) In my experience with many colleges and many interviews (my kids were filling applications in 2015, 2017, 2018, and this one in 2019), interviews have very little weight or none at all. They are invented to keep the alums linked to the school they graduated from. It is for alums, not for the applicants, really… Still it is good to take them seriously and to show your best while there. 'Cause you never know…

Called my Interviewer a Mr. before I looked them up, had a really strange name and it turned out to be a woman…catch me not getting in lol

@notarobot12 I had a student do that to me this cycle and he was super in our meeting. Loved talking to him and I’m cheering for him to be admitted. Im sure your interviewer won’t hold that against you.

@ElenaParent just saw in her email that she received an invite to show interest for an interview, but the deadline was Jan. 7, which she obviously missed. Do you or @momofsenior1 see any merit in her contacting admissions and apologizing for missing the window and seeing if an interview is still possible?

@OH2020MOM

I would suggest sending the email.

@OH2020MOM Yes, I’d suggest writing a polite e-mail with an explanation.
