I don't think this thread exists yet, so here we go. I'll get things started:

I'm from India, lived in Singapore practically my whole life. I have academic interests in economics, political science, creative writing, sociology, math and history.

I’m from Indi(an)a. My hobbies include maliciously editing Wikipedia entries, using Skype as a universal prank-call device and lying to the next class about what was on the test. Wurd.

From Canada. I like chemistry, learning things by myself indepedently (which has included in the past quantum mechanics, philosophy and mathematics). I like gaming, and a FPS junkie, who has sparred with words with my chem teacher about FPS games vs RPG games. I’m also a history buff, and an avid reader.

I’m from Illinois, where everyone & their mothers apply to Northwestern. I have a crazy passion for broadcast journalism, and my hobbies include theatre, music, martial arts and every extracurric under the [hidden] Illinois sun. Also deferred from ED. :(

I’m from Massachusetts, I applied to NU for Medill, but I’m thinking now that I probably should’ve applied for the School of Communications. I want to work on a magazine, but not as a writer. Regardless, NU is my top choice and I absolutely love it there.

I’m from Illinois. I’m passionate about psychology. I originally was going to apply ED but chose not to in the last minute because my parents were hesitant about finances. now i really regret listening to them because i think i would have had a solid chance for ED
Oh well, I’ll just keep my fingers crossed for RD.
are any of you interviewing?

I’m from New York, just finished my RD application to Medill Print journalism! Hopefully I have a shot, it seems awesome and I love writing. Other hobbies are art, reading, and consuming large amounts of coffee, tea and junk food.

I’m with you on the coffee bit. One of those cool economists who go around doing fun but useless studies should write a paper on what higher education would be like if coffee didn’t exist.

I’m from Indiana.
Interested in foreign languages, communications, and international studies.
I’d like to go to NYC for college, so I’m still deciding whether or not to apply to NU.

^^ Given your interest in international studies and communications, what is the appeal of NYC. Is there a particular school you’re interested in?

I personally think NYC would be on the best places a communications major/international studies major could study. I mean NYC has everythingggg, and it’s a major hub for the media (thus more opportunities for internships and networking). I applied to 5 schools in NYC: Hunter college, NYU, Fordham, The New School, and Pace University.
