No i dont believe they provide transfers with that service.

I called Northwestern to check on my application and they told me that they lost my HS transcript, which I sent back in January. I re-sent it, but is this going to hurt my chances? Also, my teachers STILL haven’t put in my spring grades, so I can’t send those yet… I’m going crazy here!

I sent them an email letting them know my spring grades wont be available until the end of the week… i suggest you let them know your situation as well.

so are we really not getting decisions until late june?

last year people got decisions starting right about now through June. I think people whose Spring Grades are available first get decisions first. If you are on a quarter system decisions probably not until late June

I just wrote an email to NU, and I was really amazed by the quick and satisfying response from the university. They always replied my email within hours, and they didn’t just give me some all-the-same official responses!

About the time of notification, they say generally it is from now to late June, on a rolling basis.
So, I guess unless you are one of the few exceptional applicants, you should be informed of the decision around mid to late June.

so, are you guys going to send spring grades?? I thought I did not need to send it cuz I am transferring as a junior. I got confused.

i always thought that spring grades would jsut be used to revoke admissions afterwards, or that you could send them in if you get them early and you did well to help you out, but that they are not mandatory

The email I got about the topic yesterday basically said that, though they aren’t necessary, they can be helpful in speeding up the process if you just send them now in case they decide that they do want to wait to see your spring grades.

its taking forever for everything. I am on the waitlist for one school, which i have a sort of idea on how to get my name remembered amongst the 1209823098 on the waitlist. And NWstern is my only other hope. Else im destined for state u.

I am getting worried. I was rejected last year as a transfer student, had to wait until this year, and now it is taking them FOREVER. I think it is actually kind of rude to be honest, I have to let another school (that I really do not want to attend) know my decision by June 1st, and I have no idea what to do. I understand they are on a quarter system (unlike many universities) but come on, this is ridiculous. Noone else has heard of a decision? I also know from an inside source that the amount of transfer students accepted this year will be smaller because they let in such a large freshmen class.

“inside source”…?

just let the other school know on may 30. Maybe by your SN that u are in Cali? The UCs are only 100 bucks. Whats to lose?

hahaha no I am not from Cali, I am from the mid-west.

My inside source is a family friend that talked to someone, I guess they let in a large freshmen class this year. That is all I was told.

Should I tell the school on May 30th that I am still waiting to here? Or do you think decisions will be available before that? I had read that if your spring semester grades were sent (previously in this thread) that you would hear back sooner? I hope this is the truth, I called today and they have my spring transcripts. It is just nerve-racking.

Having sent spring grades early only guarantees you won’t be delayed should they decide they want to see them. It won’t benefit everyone but it can be really helpful if they do want to see what you did this past semester, I guess. As for finding out earlier, they can’t really do anything to expedite the process since applications are reviewed in the order they were received. I asked twice to two different people in Admissions and got the same answer, so I had to send my deposit to WashU anyways since it was due at the end of April. I’m really hoping that they will start mailing stuff out soon so I can just know where I’m going next year. The wait is aggravating!

annthony, applications are not reviewed in the order that they are received., its not a true rolling process, they just simply reveal decisions on a rolling basis. i called twice last semester for confirmation that applying earlier does not help you out, they dont look at applications until may 1st.

I am sending in my spring grades in a couple of days to be on the safer side.

I sent mine too…really dont want to wait until the end of june :/

so did you just call your school and give them NU’s address?

From what I was told, the sooner my file was complete the sooner I would be able to receive a decision. Since my file was already finished it was “towards the top of the pile,” as was explained to me on the phone. I guess the best thing to do is just send them whatever you think they might want so they don’t have to wait. Good luck, guys!
