Yes, they changed it a few years ago. Says it right on their Mendoza page. But they make it clear that it is rare that these students end up transferring in to Mendoza later, so just keep that in mind. But a degree from ND will carry a lot of weight, no matter what major you chose and I’m sure plenty of non-Mendoza students end up with amazing business careers.
does anyone think they could release tomorrow?
My friends at ND have said once you’re in, you can transfer between colleges very easily. They don’t want parents and future alumni mad, and they certainly don’t want people choosing majors they don’t even like. They just make a lot of noise during admissions to try and balance out the classes between the colleges as best they are able. That said, applicants indicating business as a major have a harder time getting in than say arts and letters or architecture, since those colleges need to fill their classrooms also whereas business has no problem.
Good luck to all the RD kids today (?) from an EA parent. I am taking my youngest there for his first visit 2 1/2 weeks from now, hoping he sees all the good in the students that we see in this thread.
Has there ever been anyone who got waitlisted at BC but accepted to ND?
@nitro11 @ericrain369cg thank both of you SO much. People like you are the reason I frequent college confidential.
It’d be cool for them to release decisions today
I hate that I am expecting something good even though I clearly understand I won’t get in
so true
i hate being so optimistic but at the same time its whats keeping me aliveeee
Good luck to ALL the applicants to Notre Dame from an ND parent. We were where you are 3 years ago and Notre Dame has been everything we had hoped and more. It is hard to describe how special the place is or how incredible the people are, both on campus and in the alumni networks. We have had an off-the-charts experience.
I know that students getting into Notre Dame typically have multiple good options to choose amongst when all their acceptances roll in. Many of you have earned large merit awards elsewhere, up to and including full rides. So did we, but we knew the fit at Notre Dame would be worth it. We have never had a second of regret.
You will find incredible opportunities for involvement in academics, activities, sports, service at ND starting on campus but spreading out around the globe to ND’s several other campus facilities in Washington, Silicon Valley, Dublin and into the local communities around the globe where ND alums are making a difference daily. The people are what make it. Notre Dame often talks about making a “40 year decision” and I can tell you that this is true. If you are lucky enough to have this opportunity, do not let it pass lightly. Go back to campus and take another look before commitment day. Talk to the alums in your home city.
The classes have been challenging, the professors have cared and made connections, the internships have been astounding, the activities outside the classroom have been so fun and have made a difference. And I don’t think there is another student body that balances whip-smart with empathy in quite the same way. The kids are simply amazing.
Good luck to all of you and Go Irish!
Hopefully me today
They just signed up and this is their first post. Please ignore and hopefully someone can remove it
2plus - your post belongs in the accepted thread and those trying to choose, not the applicant thread for people hoping to get in and who may not have a choice at all. If ND doesn’t take me, I could care less how great it is or how all the kids there are simply amazing. A rejection will only hurt more.
@nancyyancy69 Are you saying this because you were a reject?
I’m:
OOS
A girl
ACT: 23
HS GPA 3.72
Got in at TU, KU, UCO, UC Merced, and UC Santa Cruz.
Didn’t think I would get in at TU or UCSC.
To all with hope, don’t give up.
How could you(@nancyyancy69) possibly know anything about these people posting? What I’ve gleaned is that they are talented, caring, motivated people, who, at this point, spread a lot more goodness in this world than you have. Whether they get into ND or not, they will bless the world in many ways. You seem to delight in knocking people’s dreams down. Please consider taking your anger somewhere else.
@blue221 yes. a friend of mine was waitlisted to BC 2 years ago, but got into both Notre Dame & Northwestern … college admissions are crazy
Last year there was like 19000 aplications. Do you all know moreless how many of them were for each school?
They have made it so the revisit day on march 26 is for REA only, which makes me think that they are going to release decisions next week
I was waitlisted at BC but didn’t show much interest in the school. I’m hoping for the best for ND!!
