***Official Nov 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@‌ScholarlyGrad Okay well here’s my advice:
Math- Since you said you never scored that low just think of it as a fluke, you’re gonna do way better tomorrow. Work fast through the first couple of problems (but don’t sacrifice accuracy) and then really TRY for the problems you don’t know. Chances are, you will find a way. So just work fast and trust yourself, that’s important.
Critical Reading- I would say if you studied your vocab, you should be okay. If you can google Direct Hits pdf and go over that document if you haven’t already. For the passages, do line questions first and then the rest. Really try to cross out wrong answers and then whatever you have remaining should be the right answer. The answer is ALWAYS in the text. Always play devil’s advocate. Also trust your gut because I changed two correct answers in October :frowning:
Writing- I can guarantee you a 10 on the essay if you fill up the pages, do 2 good examples (make them up, trust me, unless you have good examples), and use at least 5 strong vocab words. As for the Multiple choice, go through them slowly and take your time. It is usually intuitive if you have done A LOT of practice, which I’m sure you’re fine with. Basically if you get more than 5 No Error, go over it because I don’t think there should be more than 5.
You’re going to do just fine and no, it’s not unrealistic at all! You’re gonna get that 2100+, stay confident and don’t stress out!

@scarlettlovesivy‌ thank you so much!! That gave me a huge confidence boost! If you don’t mind me asking, what is your super score for each section?

@ScholarlyGrad No problem! Yay, I’m glad  And I’ll message you!

Guys im stressing. I have been scoring around 2250 on basically every single practice test. On CR I struggle with vocab but get all the passage ones right. Any last minute suggestions?

Good luck to all tomorrow. May the test be easy.

@2400boii its a little too late now to start memorizing alot of vocab. The first couple questions in each section are really easy, but when you get towards the harder questions constantly cross out choices and if you cant limit it down to 2 choices and have no clue which one is right, go with the harder vocab words.

And the essay is REALLY REALLY REALLY easy to get a 10 or over on. On the October test, i didnt use any hard vocab words, made up extremely weird examples (MLK volunteered at a soup kitchen, i even said that Galileo was an artist, and that henry david thoreau gardened as a child), i wrote all simple sentences, and didnt even finish my conclusion paragraph and still got a 9. I filled up the paper until like 2 lines left, and the funny thing is that if i finished my conclusion i would have gotten a 11 or 12. Just dont stop writing, make sure the intro and first 3 sentences of the 1st body paragraph are really good, and the conclusion are solid, and in the middle of the essay dont stop writing (LITERALLY, if a sentence doesnt make sense, dont erase it, just leave it there), and fill out all the paper and you are guaranteed a 10+

Deleterious and myopic in the same sentence with made up quotes. 11 essay.

for the essay, how many paragraphs should we have by the time we finish the first page in order to fill up the entire 2 pages? I have 3 paragraphs done on the first page, but I am only able to get 1.5 pages.

Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice ill use it. Are you taking it tmmrw? And do you find it easier to use factual examples or just make it up? @emersonballer21‌

@2400boii‌ I would strongly recommend briefly looking through a “root words” list (along with prefixes and suffixes, if you have the time). This will allow you to understand most words even without formally reading their definitions. I did so and I rarely, if ever, get a sentence completion incorrect. Try it out! It’ll definitely help you

Could you share some advice for the reading passages?

Ill do some in the morning haha but thanks. And for passage based ones it basically boils down to wat is written in the passage. If the answer is not a mere rephrase of whats written in the passage i eliminate it. This helps me a lot @ScholarlyGrad‌

It’s 5:30 here on the east coast and here I am unable to sleep…

dude I get you! I haven’t been able to sleep. woke up at 4 am this morning. F-.-

So is it just me or was that easy?

How was it, guys? I wasn’t able to get a seat for this test but I’m dying to know what it was like :P

@Mystic7 SAME haha wait you didn’t take it?

I tried but we registered too late :frowning: Gonna take it in December instead. But knowing my luck, this test will have ended up being way easier LOL

It was easier when compared to the October SAT… Did you guys get 5 Es in the identifying sentence error part of the writing section??
