*Official* November 2014 Math 2 Thread

It was pi/2 because the area is .5bh the base was 1.57 bla bla times 2= pi, divided by 2 makes it pi/2

I got 25 for the chairs

I put 108 but it’s wrong, the answer is 105 because it asked for the answer in MONTHS… 105 = like 2009.something

@icepierre‌ It couldn’t have had an x intercept because if you plot the values on your calculator, the outline of the parabola is above the x axis

___I put 25 for the row / chairs question because I thought if there were 355 students + 5 extra chairs, then the only number by which 360 wasn’t divisible would’ve been 25

ALSO PI/2 for the triangle x 2sin(2x) curve

@Castigations‌ its 25. There had to be 5 chairs left in the row. For 25 there were 20 chairs left

@Castigations / @icepierre but the last value f(2.5) was negative

@psutsi Yeah thats how I got my answer

@jellybae lol I made a typo ;P

@Castigations‌ haha sorry!

the compounded one was so weird because none of the answers were exactly right. because of that I just rounded up

y=t and x=-t^2-1?

What’d you guys get for the one where it said sinTHETA= x/4 what’s cos(or maybe it was sec)THETA? I think I put A?

yeah A √16-x^2)/4 @Castigations

YAYYYYYY :slight_smile: @psutsi‌

All and all the test was a hell of a lot easier than the Dr.Chaung books I’ve been studying out of.

And I used Heron’s formula and got π.

It was pi/2

No need for formula’s on that one @QuadMaster‌ … You’re given the height, 2, and if you put the function in your graphing calculator, the closest point to the origin that touches the x axis according to the graph is 1.5707… 1.5707xheight(2)= pi… but since its a triangle its 1/2bh so its pi/2

The amplitude of the sin wave was 2 so, the maximum of the triangle would be 2. 2pi/2 = pi. Does anyone agree?

@Localdreamer15‌ But the base of the triangle itself was pi/2 since the points were (0,0) (1.507,0) on the x axis

What month was the right answer? Literally had no idea how to do that.

how many do u guys think u can miss on this test to get 800
like maybe 5, 6, or 7?
