i actually used no books. i'm in a us history class right now (2 year AP course) so if anything my textbook's really great.
but i'd suggest kaplan i guess cuz even if you're falling asleep they bolden words..
btw, you double replied (you may want to delete one of them) and go to the what's the best book for us history thread.

I did re-take this test today because my score from June (after the AP) was not what I wanted. I received a 5 on the AP but a high 600 on the SAT2. The problem with the SAT2 is that it asks some very obscure questions. I don't know how the curving is though.

I used Pearsons' APUSH and Barron's SAT2 US. Those two weren't the most comprehensive. I guess I would have to say that Barron's was better for the study guide while Pearson's was better for the questions.

A textbook might be too much information too so, unless you want to spend a lot of time with extra info, you can try to get one. I used one by Alan Brinkley in my APUSH class. Very good book, but too much info.

oh did anyone know the answer to the ralph nader question? it was something like "what did ralph nader contribute to us policy"...i dont really like the SAT II since it concentrate alot on 20th century stuff and basically i had to guess on any question later than watergate

How many questions can you get wrong today (assume if you didn't skip any) to get a 700+, based on your estimation (not on the scales provided in study guides)?

No idea :P (I'm a rookie to SATs...so I was just wondering)

Or...maybe if you've taken the subject test before and have a rough idea of how many you got wrong --> then compare the difficulties of the 2 tests, and.....

I think I'll just wait for 3 weeks then....

i didn't understand the right wing question. Was it 1980?
And the leader who didn't participate in the 1950's compromise wasn't lincoln. I remember he was debating with jefferson davis right?

i didn't understand the right wing question. Was it 1980?
-Yep, Reagan's time
-other dates were like 1948 (Truman), 1992 (Clinton) and something from FDR, I think

And the leader who didn't participate in the 1950's compromise wasn't lincoln. I remember he was debating with jefferson davis right?
-Lincoln's correct
