I applied to Gallatin and got GSP'd. o.O; I thought it was mainly CAS and Stern students who that happens to. Though I should have expected this to happen. ^^;

I'm not sure if I'm actually going to accept. I suppose I'll have to check out the info session next Wednesday and then weigh that with my odds for USC, as I'm sure I'd rather go there than be GSP'd for 2 years at NYU.

It's frustrating and downright asinine that NYU gives GSP'd ED applicants only 3 weeks to decide before getting to see their regular decision options. I applied ED with the hope that I'd either get accepted or rejected, not so I'd have to basically gamble with my future by not necessarily wanting to bed over, grab my ankles, and take a downgraded version of NYU just because they think I still really want to go there.

Hmmm, yes. I am a bit bitter. You'd think I'd be more happy that I got into college. o.O;

SAT: 2030 (590 math, 650 critical reading, 790 writing)
SAT II:
French - 640
US History - 650
Japanese w/listening - 630

AP English Lang: 5
AP US History: 4

No class rank or gpa (weird private school thing). I have mainly A's and B's, and typically C's in math, except this year. (no wonder, eh?)

excellent recs, pretty good essays, really good ec's (japanese language outside of school, travel abroad in japan experience, stage crew, asian club, fencing, etc).

I had a feeling I'd be GSP'd. I just think I was unwilling to really think about it seriously before opening the letter. ^^;

haha what? I doubt youll get GSPed goodynotion... You'll most likely either be rejected or accepted... From what I hear Stern kids aren't often GSPed. Correct me if im wrong people.

I feel there's something wrong with this system. It's just not right that we've to wait this this. Other school has a fixed time for all applicants to find out at exactly the same time on-line. I like that system much better. We're not treated right to have to wait like this. Also, I really don't think that marks should represent a person, especially each schools has a different way to give out marks. As far as I know, the gap between the way they give out marks is very big, as much as at least 20% difference. I am surprised that the school and the students never notice it or never mention it.

Haha, I'm not Japanese. XD If I was I probably would have done a hell of a lot better on the SAT II. Given that most people who take it are Japanese and get 800s, a 630 apparently equals the 21st percentile, according to my score report, lol.
