it doesn't mean you are rejected, just that your letter is late. I doubt timing has much to do with it.

i think i'm going to the post office today see if anything's there...

Accepted!! to CAS :)

I really didn't think I was going to get in! This board was mostly the reason I thought I was rejected... Turns out because of the snow I didn't get any big packages in the mail on thursday so the mail was a day behind and came yesterday!! I freaked out. I still can't believe it.

I know you'll ask me to post my stats, so here they are:

Sports-
Soccer- freshman team freshman year
XC- Varsity for grades 10, 11, 12 (captain)
also contacted the NYU coach and told him I would run for them. They're D III and I came in 10th out of 200 people in one of my championship races (so I told him that) and my PR was 21:40 (not a very competitive league, as you can tell). I sent him a letter saying how much I wanted to continue XC in college, as well as included awards I've won and my common app.
I also included in my resume that I run a lot of charity races.
Ski team- Varsity for grades 9, 10, 11, 12
Track- Varisty for grades 9, 10, 11, 12 (although I forgot to put down grade 9 on the common app, oops)

Arts-

I was a hostess/ bus girl at a resturaunt on the cape for summer 2006; 20hrs/ week
I interned at a law office in the summer of 2006; 15hrs/ week

Other-
Attended a 6 day cross-country camp in NJ; August 2007
Attended the LeadAmerica Business and Entrepreneur Conference; June 2007

My application:

I spent a lot of time on my essay, it was about cross country relating to life ( I know it sounds cliche haha)

my short answers were decent for the supplement...

my short answer for the common app was about how my taste in music/ exploring and listening to new music over the past 4 years has helped me grow and become more open minded and has taught me things about different cultures, etc... I wrote this mainly for NYU because I thought they would like it for some reason.

Wow... that was a lot to write. Anyway, if you haven't heard yet, don't get down on yourself. That's obviously easy for me to say, but I really thought I wasnt going to get in and then I did. Listen to your friends/ family... not this board haha, because this board was the main reason I was absolutley convinced I wasn't going to get in.
