Congrats, gvan! Good to hear that some acceptances are still coming -- especially from FL for us.

Christmas lists and presents are basically on hold for my son until we know the decision so time is running out on being able to purchase in time for Christmas. If he doesn't get an acceptance letter today, we are going forward with the Christmas list as if he did not get in. Hopefully, based on gvan's acceptance, we will hear for sure either way today.

m3.yoshioka,,,....................

yeah criddle, i know how you feel...

TheJosh, you're actually buying presents based on your son's acceptance to NYU? That's interesting...

im freaking out.

me too... one more period until i can go home and check the mailbox. for me personally, im not so confident that there will be an acceptance but i DEFINITELY think that there are both rejections and acceptances out there. some of you guys have amazing stats, and it wouldnt make sense for you to not get in.

Glad to hear that acceptance are showing up in the mail today!

I'm still really nervous. And my mail doesn't come until 5 pm! :(

We were all in limbo because the only thing he actually put on his list this year was getting into NYU which none of us can get him. If he gets in or not doesn't affect whether he gets presents just changes some of them.

If he doesn't get into NYU, the deal is that he is staying in-state for school and taking one of the full scholarship offers. If he stays in-state for school, he gets a premium annual pass for Disney because he can use it with his friends all year. If he gets into NYU, he will be getting a seasonal pass to Disney. Either way, he is getting a laptop but which laptop he gets also depends on NYU. His grandmother wants to get him an NYU shirt that he put off getting in case he jinxed himself by buying it but she's not going to get it and depress him if he doesn't get in. His other grandparents wanted to get him a wool coat since he has no heavy-duty winter wear or gear but there isn't much point if he is going to be in Florida.

Sounds silly, I know.

I would just like to remind everyone here that everyone INTERNATIONAL probably has received their email or letter by now if accepted.. They were the first to receive anything back on the 11th or 12th remember? So look at the poster's location--London. Maybe he and you all misunderstood what his college counselor said. Let's hope so!! :)

m3.yoshioko are you an international student? Have you received anything yet? Only international students got emails, if you read back a week or so in these posts-- apparently in case there was some problem with their mail.

Wow, I'm an international applicant... I'm so screwed

No Don't assume anything. None of us should assume the worst until after Tuesday. The official NYU admissions response was that all letters should be received by Monday or Tuesday. And after Tuesday you can call. I was merely responding to m3.yoshioka's post that his counselor said everyone who hasn't heard has been rejected. That can't be right. I am just pointing out that he is an international student and some received their letters as early as 12/11. Go back and look at those posts. Keep the faith everyone. It ain't over till it's over!

My mail is an hour late so far. I am not pleased. I've been calling my dad (who's home for lunch) during class because everyone in my 4th period is so invested in my getting in.

rejected =(

no worries, lwang. Just don't think about it.

sigh..rejected as well

rejected as well. between tears because i cant stop crying, but i said id post. new york was where i wanted to be. my dream was to major in english at nyu for undergrad, work for awhile in the city, the major in business at columbia. class of 2012 though, i can guarentee i will see you all next year as a transfer.

i really dont know what to do next, i had a whole application mailing thing layed out if i didnt get in but i really dont want to go anywhere else. im completely devestated.

and to those accepted: please enjoy it as much as you can. you have no idea how truly lucky you are. and if anyone who was gsp'd and doesnt want to accept it...maybe it could be somehow transferred to me? haha wishful thinking i guess...but seriously, enjoy it...

I got rejected.
