OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2014 SAT THREAD (International students)

Hell yeah! 2310! 730 in CR, 800 in M, and 780 in W! 9 on the essay! 79 in MC! And I’m an Indian if anyone cares. And my 1st time I got 1940. Hard to believe.

How long did you study for this one? @AGDC18‌

Got 2260 (790 CR, 680 MATH, 790 WR), quite happy  . Not sure if I should retake for math though.

I started studying in August. @Hasmat

@AGDC Did you use any specific books or did you just take loads of practice tests?

I need help!! Wrote the SAT in October for the first time and I got 1700! I’m extremely disappointed!! What methods if studying where you guys using? I need a 2000 at least! I studied for one month using the Princeton Review and each time I had about 1940. Help!!

My korean friends told me all the delays are due to cheating in korea AGAIN… apparently some questions were leaked

Apparently, a Korean prep school’s teacher sold 60 real sat sets, including the one koreans took this october, for 50,000 dollars. This just got divulged, so the Korean police are currently investigating on this matter. Collegeboard deliberately reused the sat questions only on the one koreans took, so this was a trap investigation. Koreans, and even some koreans who took the exam abroad, have their scores unrevealed. There is a possibility that this score would be cancelled and korean test centers wont be able to hold exams anymore.

@Marazan I used PR’s Cracking the SAT 2013 and the Blue Book and PR’s 11 Practice Test book. I must have done like 25 practice tests in total. For the essay I used a variety of online stuff and I didn’t really study vocab until the last day.

YOU are all craaaaaazy/ How could you get those scores? :open_mouth:

IM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND. How, how in the name of the SAT gods did I score a 1610??? I only ever score 2000+ at home! I never lose more than 20 writing marks! What the heck went wrong? Can test anxiety really pull the rug out from under me so badly?

Got a 2110. 720 CR, 660 M, 730 M. I should probably retake for the Math seeing as I already have a November registration, but I’m seriously too emotionally drained for this right now. I’m content, I guess.

is anyone in korea getting scores???

2270, kind of disappointed about writing… (800 CR, 770M, 700 WR)

Not only do Koreans have their scores delayed, but also Chinese. The reason for the delays of Chinese test takers’ scores is the same as that for the delays of Koreans’. Based on the information provided by CB via emails&phone calls, the scores will be released in about 4 weeks if they have no problems. However, according to some grapevines, the scores will be cancelled based on test rooms NOT ON INDIVIDUALS. I know similar problems happened in Korea before. I’m curious about the ways CB handled them. :frowning:

@SephardicJewESA hi could you tell me some tips on Critical Reading? I took the October SAT too and I only scored 640. I’m very disappointed to be honest. I thought I had done ok, for I was confused at some of the questions and I only omitted one sentence completion. Do you remember any tricky questions and their answers? Please tell me, thanks a lot ! Have a nice day.

1950.
Extremely disappointed.
Was expecting atleast 2000.
CR: 650 (disappointing. I always get 700+ here)
Math: 600 (understandable, I screwed Math pretty badly on this test)
Writing: 700 (should be content but I’m not. I was sure that I’d get atleast a 750 on this atleast!)
With a 10 essay.

Oh well. ._. Will probably take SAT in December now.

How could you guys do that well on the CR? Although I got 2000+ I’ll retake it because my reading score was not as I expected

May I ask what you got for your CR raw score? Because apparently my test result has been delayed. @AGDC18

@islander1108 may I ask how much you got in CR raw score? Thanks a lot.
