Official Penn Class of 2013 Early Decisions

hahahah the shaving cream reference was ridiculous!
you're awesome!

Don't scare Penn away please...

I think Pennaphile should be a word

lmao pennahile. you're right, we should keep this thread pg-13. so how about i had a dream where i got a call from my brother and he said "see i knew you could do it man, you got into penn and columbia." and i was like "yea baby."

but then i realized he was probably talking about penn state and columbia college or something else like that. which would be a tragedy.

few more days crew.

penn. ma'am, i will do anything for you.

this is WAAAY too early...the title is kind of messed up any way, it should read 'Official Penn Class of 2013 Early Decision Results' LOL

how 'bout "Penn Class of 2013 Early Decision Hopefuls".......................today's the official day i can't stop thinkin about Penn

haha you guys are killin me
so is this wait
2 weeks never seemed like so long
just remember back in september when u were dreaming of december 15th!
oh and it is dec 15th right? i've heard things about it being the 12th online as well, but that's confused me

Two weeks of agonizing hell.
Actually, I don't want to know when it'll officially be out. I want to be surprised when I look every day between those 3 days xD

they're really behind with everything this year so online decisions will be posted on Dec 15th (from the admissions office)

Funny.
Cornell ED applicants find out on the 11th at 5pm EST.

are you sure?? how come???

It was in a letter my friend, who applied to Cornell ED, got.

"As Cornell admission selection committees approach the end of early decision application review, we want to share information with you regarding Cornell’s online admission decision notification process.

Early decision applicants will be able to view their admission decisions online on Thursday, December 11, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). A few days prior to the decision release date, we will contact all early decision applicants by email with instructions for viewing your decision online. Please note that decisions will not be posted on your Cornell online application status account, so please follow the instructions that will be outlined in our email to you.

You do not need to do anything further at this time. We will post a new message on our web site once we have sent the email instructions for viewing your decision online."

so i guess the cornell kids will know b4 we know?

everyone knows the long shot nature of ivy ED....some details from last year....

sources:
Early Decision applications decrease 1.5 percent - News
Lowest-ever early admit rate matched at 28 percent - News
Penn Admissions: Incoming Class Profile
Penn Alumni: Alumni Council on Admissions

3912 ED applicants
1147 accepted, 29.3% (note, the cited DP article reported 28% incorrectly)
1250 deferred, 32.0%
1515 rejected, 38.7% (my calculation)

of the 1250 deferred
130, or 10.4% of those deferred, were accepted during RD

46.9% of the 2012 class was accepted ED

SAT averages, presumably of those accepted ED (although the article did not specify)
CR 696
M 722
Wr 712

Legacies had it a bit better with a 41.7% ED acceptance rate.

ED application trends for past few years (fall of each year):
06 to 07: decrease of 1.8% (again, the cited DP article title is wrong)
05 to 06: decrease of 2.5%
04 to 05: increase of 21%

Great information if accurate. Thanks.
Stinkin' legacies. Haha.

Anyone apply to Penn via Questbridge?

i didnt think questbridge did penn?

It started this year.

has anyone gotten accepted with questbridge yet? i heard they got their admit letters this week

I know 4 people on the facebook group that got matched.

I didn't get my Penn portal yet, and I applied ED on Nov. 1. What do you think the deal is? Should I call them and does anyone have a direct number or is it just the admissions office. When did you guys get your Penn Portals?
