[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: Very good CommonApp essays. I spent a lot of time writing them. After reading it several times, I did not find a single error or something to change. I talked about opportunities in my “Why Penn?” essay, particularly internships, research, and Philadelphia culture

Other Factors (weaknesses, strengths, etc.): I really emphasized my outstanding work ethic in nearly all of my essays, and my standardized test scores and grades supported this claim. Since 7th grade, I wanted to go to Penn and I’ve finally made it.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc: Sincere congrats to everyone else who got accepted! I’m still feeling it even after a week. For those who got deferred, you still have a shot don’t cross Penn off your list yet! And for those who got rejected, really I don’t know what more you guys could have done looking at your SAT scores. But maybe you can get in HYP instead!

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: My common app was only 330 words but my English teacher loved it so I kept it short. My Why Penn essay was amazing and I liked my optional essay as well. I spent a lot of time on each.
[] Optional Essay?(Y/N): Yes
[] Teacher Recs: Pretty good I would guess, didn't read
[] Counselor Rec: Really good
[] Supplemental Rec(s)?: None
[] Hook (if any): I'm not sure if it helps, but not many kids from my school go to Ivy League or comparable schools

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: New Jersey

[/ul]Other Factors (weaknesses, strengths, etc.): Strengths: My application showed lots of leadership, my essays were great, I'm involved in my school, and my SAT scores were competitive. Weaknesses: SAT II scores (especially for Wharton), relative lack of volunteer hours.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc: I'm psyched to know I'm going to be attending Penn and Wharton, and getting accepted ED is a huge relief. I posted this for RD candidates and next year's applicants to show that you don't need to be a legacy or valedictorian or have outstanding SAT's or put in 500 volunteer hours to get in. Spend time on your essays, it pays off.
