***Official Princeton University Class of 2022 RD Applicant Thread***

Yes and am having troubke decisive east or west!

Never mind ;)!

What are you guys applying for?

My daughter applied SCEA. She has her heart set on Princeton. She also applied to 4 other Ivy’s. Did any of you apply to other Ivy’s. Also, she is Native American. Does that have any impact on admissions?

@MayBIvyMomma I would say yes. She’s a URM.

@MayBlvyMomma I’m applying to Princeton, Cornell, and Dartmouth RD.

Ok, I’ve never heard of a “likely letter”. Please explain.

I am jumping the gun by wondering this… but idk if I should join the Princeton Band. I looked them up and discovered they are a scrambler band which is common among the ivies (I didn’t know). It seems like it might be a waste of time and I could do other productive things. But I love band, idk :frowning:

Hey, I’m a possible RD applicant to Princeton as well!!! However, lately I haven’t been too sure whether or not I should apply. I look at other people’s stats and profiles, and they seem to blow mine out of the water. Would anyone here be willing to look at my profile and comment on it whether or not I actually stand a chance? I’d really appreciate it, since I don’t want to pay all that money and spend so much time on a school I would never be able to get into.

I’d be willing to chance you as well if you would like. Thanks in advance!

submitted application with writing and arts supplement!

To relieve the stress of waiting for my EA decision, I’ve been working on RD apps. Good luck to everyone who applied EA somewhere else and is applying RD to pton

Hey guys, I applied RD to Princeton. I submitted my application earlier today but have not received access to their portal yet? My other schools sent it to me almost immediately. Did it take time for you guys?? Or could it just be that it’s a Sunday? Thanks and good luck to everybody who applied early!

It takes about 2 days for them to send it.

Son applied RD to Princeton. Already accepted to BC and WPI w/Presidential scholarship, but Princeton is at the top of his list. 4.0 weighted/unweighted (less than a point difference in each based on how school calculates weighting). ACT 35 (M 36 E 36 R 35 S 34), SAT subject tests Physics 800 Math 2 800. Applying as Physics major with possible minor in Molecular biology or biophysics. Very meaningful and sustained engagement in ECs, Varsity rower (not recruited), 3-sport athlete for 12 seasons, NMSF, lots of volunteer hours (mostly peer mentoring, tutoring, and honor committee). Submitted application last night, hoping for good news in March

@moosiechica88 - He sounds like a great candidate, similar to my son who is now a Princeton graduate. Good luck to him!

@sherpa - thanks!!! I’m really praying for Princeton to be a YES for him. It’s the only college we visited twice. He loved it there and almost applied SCEA, but with admissions being so competitive, he needed to secure some admissions first. There has only been one student from his school in the last two decades who’s gotten in, and she was a swim recruit. REALLY hoping he gets in! It would be a dream come true

Is it good that even though I did not request information from Princeton, they still sent me stuff specifically stating that I requested the information? I know I did not do anything to request the little book so I was wondering if that was a plus for me.

@person2000 Princeton states that they don’t track demonstrated interest, nor do they use it as a factor for admission. Whether you requested that information or not, it will most likely not affect your standing in any way.

okay, so on the question that asks what you did over summers, did you briefly summarize everything or just detail one or two? I already wrote this very detailed essay that I felt paints a perfect picture of me, but it only discusses one activity I did. could I just leave it that way?
