*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

@‌ Austin

probably a 73/77/77 so like 220-230

I probably aced the math, got 2-3 wrong on reading and 2 wrong on the writing so I’m hoping that’s still a 230+

Last year 3 wrong on the reading was a 730 so I’m hoping that’s more like a 750 this year

Yeah the answer a few question down was the passage 1 interpretation, and if you wanted them to match, then you’d see they are not contradictory (at least that was how I did it)

i dont think so… i think the answer they are looking for is within a certain range so you should be fine @yeezytaughtme98

What about the writing question about zimbabwe

@meaa7130‌ phewwwww, only got one wrong on math

yeah that’s a good point too. The first passage was kinda indignant too but it was definitely less businesslike because it had anecdotes and took about 2-3 paragraphs to get to the point.

@yeezytaughtme98‌ I put 28 but I don’t think it had to be an integer

@Mango920452‌ Which one was that?

I said the second supported the first because in the first they said something to the effect of ‘it’s not necessary… But comes as a result of frustration with the existing technology and I guess a desire to make it better.’

In the second the woman creates ‘labor saving devices’ but they aren’t necessary. There was a part that said something like 'You don’t know how hard it is to use a hand mill until…)

The last question on the sentence error part of writing. It said something like near the cit of (something) stands stone ruins…

@icecreamcake It only asked for a number that would make the mean between 23 and 23.5 or so right? If I missed that I’ll be so pissed.

@DonkeyTesticles‌ yeah I think it just asked for a number

@Mango920452‌ Oh, so that was the Zimbabwe one. Thanks.

Logging off now, don’t fret, I’m sure you guys did awesome! :slight_smile:

on a slightly unrelated note, has anyone checked out the psat fandom tag on tumblr and twitter yet?

For the stone ruins I could’ve sworn it said ‘the stone ruins’ so I left stands. . I thought the problem was with the end of the sentence where it said ‘nobody knows why they did it’ . . . Because it was unclear what it was I guess.

Also… After looking at the google doc …I also feel like on the circle question one of the circles had a radius of 2…

@NotAMathlete‌
One circle had a diameter of 6 and the other had a diameter of 2. So the answer was no similar points

@austin23‌ okay that’s good. We can’t post the link because it’s against the mods rules.
