Ask them tomorrow if you haven’t done so already! Good recs take time to write, and teachers have lives. Also, at my kid’s school the guidance counselors ask for kids to give them a resume of their activities to help in writing the letter. Some teachers here also have their own forms which they ask students to fill out. If you haven’t asked already you are cutting it really close. I’d recommend being apologetic for not asking sooner, and of course all students should follow up with a thank you note after the recs are submitted.

It’s possible to stay logged into Questbridge for days. Outside data such as whether a counselor’s recommendation as been completed didn’t show up until we tried refreshing or logging out and logging back in.

LOL, my fax history has about 10 copies of the profile & testing data. Glitch?

I get a new email informing me about my faxed transcript and test scores every ten minutes. I hope the glitch is sorted out soon.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one…

Ahh, I was only able to get one teacher registered and my counselor today. I have to go to my Spanish teacher first thing Monday morning to get her to fill out a recommendation. Then I have to get a copy of my transcripts, get my counselor to fax the school profile and my transcript, and then I guess I am done.

The College Match deadline is coming up in a few days and I have been slacking on my teacher reccomendations. I don’t know how long it takes to do them, from experience or knowledge, is it possible that they can get done in 2-3 days?

It’s doable, but I wouldn’t expect the best recommendations at this point.

Does anyone have any insight into as to whether I should apply to the college of my top choice (ie Columbia) using ED or using Questbridge College Match? I know I’d definitely be interested in using Questbridge for the RD round, but my chances of getting matched (assuming I’m going to be a finalist) seem extremely slim.

cm1251 - the emails have stopped, but now there’s no record of them having received my faxes–same as you?

I emailed questbridge about a week ago, asking a question and they have yet to reply so I will ask you guys. I was wondering if you have to give your counselor the actual ACT Score reports (the ones that are received in the mail from ACT that have your score on them) for them to fax in with your transcript? I know it says in one place on the questbridge website to fax both the transcript and score reports, but then in several other places like the fax sheet and the information section it says the transcript and school profile only. My transcript has my ACT score on it, which has been directly sent from ACT, will that be ok or do I have to have my counselor re-send everything with the transcript and official score report seperately?

I’m waiting for my second teacher recommendation; he said he completed it but that there was some sort of error and he e-mailed my college counselor about it. He said it should be fixed soon.

So I checked today to see if it was completed yet. It doesn’t say “Completed,” “In Progress,” “Not Started,” or anything else. There’s no status there. What does this mean?

Is it OK if I print out my SAT score, for example, from the collegeboard.com site, and then fax it from my house to QB, or is the counselor the only person who can do it?

And am I right in saying that this is all that has to be done by or on Wednesday?

Same here. The number of pages and images should be showing up, but they’re not. Should I email Questbridge about this?

For dates attended, do middle school dates count?

I took two classes at my high school as an eighth grader. Also, should we list dates we plan to attend to (until june, for example). Or do we just list that we have attended up until now?

Thanks.

No, do not include middle school, and put 5/11 or 6/11 for your ending date.

^Thanks 10char.

I know a kid applying through QB and he’s sent me one of his essays, which is more creative writing than anything else (poem/short story type). It works well, but will colleges frown on this as not being demonstrative of essay writing ability? After all, it is called a “Biographical Essay”

Is it due September 30th 11:59:59pm? or September 30th 00:00:00?

“Please note that the mini-courses, application, and teacher recommendations must be completed by September 30, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.”
