Ksty1098- I agree. The webpage for waitlist is not very cool. The video of happy, shiny people (I didn’t watch it) is misleading and kind of cruel. They need to re-think that.
Got accepted like the best boss!
For those who were accepted: First of all…CONGRATULATIONS!!! And secondly, were your financial aid awards close to what the Net price calculator showed? Mine was almost $5,000 dollars off, which is basically twice as expensive as what the NPC had said. The award is just an estimate right? Is it worth calling the Financial aid office now or should I just wait to see what the final package is?
Accepted (SAT 2060, from Kazakhstan, grant 62k a year)
@Peggy1897 I’m fairly certain the awards are final.
Where’d you guys see aid?
This is so unreal! i can’t believe i got accepted with 66k a year!
Congrats to everyone who got accepted! for those who were waitlisted, i wish you all luck.
Those rejected - don’t let college decisions define you
Waitlisted. 3.92 GPA 2340 SAT
Waitlisted. I’m strangely happy though because there’s like a 10% chance I’ll get off.
@cslaymaker10 At the top of the admitted page where it says Your application. On the drop down-menu it says financial aid.
@psychlvr18 Thanks for answering! It actually says underneath the awards numbers (in the financial aid pdf that opens ) that these numbers are tentative and depend on the IDOC documents that are going to be requested. I was asking because if people’s numbers are generally accurate I might have made a mistake filling out the documents. But if the numbers are a little screwy then it might just be because they are an estimate.
I don’t understand why colleges hold such big wait lists. You don’t need 5000 people on a list. You need 100 max, and holding more people is like giving false hope. Any waitlist for me just means rejection. Why should I put my celebration and senior year on hold for a call that’s never going to come?
@ThatGirlCoder congrats! Was that a scholarship or did that match up with your EFC??
It says “8 percent of our enrolling class has been admitted from the waitlist” in the letter. If 1600 enrolled last year, that makes 128 waitlist offers.
I got differed!! I can’t believe they didn’t except me, even with my perfect 2400! Their tripping!
I saw stats somewhere else that suggested 3,000 wait list offers, 1,400 said yes to being on wait list and 160 made it off the list and into the class. Seems weird to accept about 4,000 and wait list about 3,000.
Any others get differed :3 ?
@2400sonly2400s It’s not possible to be deferred at this point. You can be waitlisted, meaning that you’re not offered admission but stuck in limbo if an accepted student says no.
No, no. I was differed. It’s ok, i’m sure my 2400 will get me into Harvard!
Just declined the wait list offer. Seems strange. All the hours put in and now it’s a no. Weird feeling.
LOL What? Its not all about stats these days…many 2400’s get denied from Harvard
