Official RD 2020 Thread

@psychlvr18 thank you so much! I’m not sure how FA works… so how do I find out my EFC? haha most of it was need based aid from Vandy then the rest was pell grant. No scholarship!

@whitespace , a parent here. I have seen you on other college forums, and you have always remained optimistic, so I was pulling for you. Hopefully your good news and better fit is yet to come. Good luck.

@harvard2020babe Look whose talking! Your arrogant, you wanted too room with me wiht only a 2390!

rejected :frowning: congrats to those who got in! to all other rejects LETS SHOW THEM WHAT THEY’RE MISSING!

@2400sONLY2400s its not funny anymore, please stop. Harvard2020babe was rejected and she doesn’t need you calling her “arrogant” especially considering that you’re the arrogant one here

(The 2400only user is a joke, right?)

@Rafalala yes

accepted!! 36 act 4.0 UW. I’m really happy but idk if Vandy is a legitimate possibility due to no aid :-/

Waitlisted. 35 ACT. 4.0 GPA. NMF. 11 AP classes.

Congrats to those accepted.

@magleby good luck paying 66k per year

Denied. Honestly wasn’t surprised. Congrats to everyone who did get in!

Waitlisted- 35 ACT, 4.2 GPA
For people wondering about the waitlist-the common data set: http://virg.vanderbilt.edu/virgweb/CDSC.aspx?year=2014
In 2014, 6,018 students were offered a spot on the waitlist. 4,536 accepted a spot, and 210 were eventually admitted. Tough odds.

So sorry, those who were not admitted. My heart goes out to you. Since my daugher’s offer came with no scholarship money, she will not be attending. It is ok, though. One space off the waitlist for someone. Best of luck, everyone.

Son admitted. 36 ACT 3.97UW, engineering. I was astounded considering the amazing statistics of the rejected and waitlisted CC posters. Vandy wants tax returns before final FA determination.

Man, scrolling through here basically eliminated all my chances for being admitted next year :frowning:

@allison1225 Don’t think that way! There’s always hope. Lots of people told me not to apply because I was underqualified, but I still did. Have faith in yourself and apply! You might surprise yourself

@ThatGirlCoder I’m still going to apply, it’s my dream school, but seeing people with 35s and 36s with all these AP courses not getting in makes me nervous. Do you mind if I ask what your stats were for getting in?

@allison1225 apply ED if you can! The acceptance rate is much higher and it takes away the stress early

@collegebobollege I don’t think I’ll apply ED, just because I know they don’t give much aid when applying ED and I need as much aid as possible, but I know I won’t get much

This is a weird question, but why would anyone deny a waitlist offer? If you get off the waitlist, you don’t have to enroll, so doesn’t it seem silly to not accept the waitlist spot? It’s just another chance at admission.
