@maiju15 @altmusicman thanks for yalls responses! I read the article, but im still not sure I understand. So we pay the fee, and we are also responsible for purchasing our own laptops? Or are we using the $2000 to purchase a laptop?
@imabelli My understanding is as follows: The university includes a $1,500 expense (“Engineering Laptop Allowance”) in the 2016-2017 Estimated Cost of Attendance (take a look at yours). This is included to represent to total cost of attendance, and also so those amounts are contemplated in a financial aid package, if you applied. You do not actually pay that $1,500 to the university. Instead, you are responsible for purchasing a laptop that meets the stated specifications - either by purchasing one of the specicially mentioned laptops or purchasing one independently that meets the same specs. (Obviously the cost of the laptop may be slightly more or less than the stated $1,500, depending on exactly what you purchase.)
Anyone know what the overall class of 2020 acceptance rate is this year?
@Alundari someone asked the same question on the blog, and they responded saying they would publish official statistics after the class of 2020 is finalized (including waitlist admissions). Last year it was 11.7% and it’s probably going to be very similar or slightly lower this year.
When do we receive our final financial aid packages? Is it through the mail?
should be on your portal. A tentative one at least
Does anyone know how many people they’ll take off the waitlist this year?
