D is at Vassar. Thin envelope - No. Fat envelope - Yes. Worst of all - medium envelope - eternal wait list.

Thanks, VassarMom! And welcome to CC!

Agh, I can’t wait anymore. I’m getting really anxious. I’m kind of scared.

Me too ^

I was waitlisted at Washington University in St. Louis, which was my biggest reach. Vassar is right below it, I really hope I’ll get in.

Does Vassar really meet full need with no loans if your income is under 60k?? My EFC was 1271 w/ a 42k income so hopefully i will get an amazing package if I get in too!

Come on Vassar!

I would second Vassar Mom in saying that the waitlist is the worst fate. My advice to those that get that is not to pin your hopes on it and prolong the agony. Move forward and out of limbo.

For those who got a letter RD where do you live? Was the financial package with the letter?

@LMU10 - Vassar does meet full need without loans for US citizens or permanent residents making less than $60,000/year.

On another note, hey! I commented on your other thread. :)

@LMU10 - For ED1, we got an estimate of what the financial aid would be, based on most of 2008’s financial information. (The “real” information comes around the same time RD students get theirs, I think.) Mine was outstanding!! Like you, I fall under that $60,000/year mark, and so I received no loans. Overall, financial aid was really the deciding factor for whether or not I’d be able to attend, and it was so much more than my family had expected. Also, the financial aid department is really willing to work with students if the package isn’t satisfactory (I didn’t have to do this, but I’ve heard stories from people who have).

Good luck to you! :)

guys! how is the financial aid for the internationals? I am really worried…will my chance of being admitted decrease if i apply for FA?

It’s a little misleading to say your chances ‘decrease’ but in principle they do because the pool of internationals competing for FA is more competitive, significantly so at schools of VC’s caliber.

To answer the envelope question, the ED acceptence envelopes were large white envelopes, 8.5" x 11" with VASSAR in the lower right corner under the address. While it was a large envelope, it was very thin, only one piece of paper. But that was all you needed:-)

My son was accepted RD last year and the acceptance envelope was a large. thin white envelope with VASSAR in large letters. I remember watching him through the window as he pulled it out of the mailbox and immediately opened it. He had a huge smile when he read the good news.
Paper is the best, you can hold it in your hands!

Still waiting in NY…

Did anyone RD get a letter?

They haven’t been sent yet have they?

^I doubt it. Internationals would probably be the first to know if they have though. We get emails.

Does the mail come by regular mail or FedEx?

Hi Everyone,

I am from Italy. I applied RD and I am waiting just like you all. Good luck everyone!

Good luck pozzol…please post when your all recieve RD letters!!

an international…seeking aid desperately :(
