Essays (rating 1-10, details): 9/10 I spent a lot of time on it and pinpointed a very specific moment that changed my outlook on things. It was casual and showed my personality well but a few sentences sound a bit cliche.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):

Rec 1: 9.5/10 - APES teacher (10th), Research club advisor (11), Research teacher (12)
Rec 2: 9/10 - Chem teacher, probably wrote about personal strengths more than academic which I think balanced the previous rec out
Counselor: 7/10 - Probably like the same as everyone elses in my school
Rec 3: 8.5/10 - Department chair from the university I do research at. Probably a little vague but he’s a big shot lol

No aid listed on portal but we see this is common from prior years so others like us shouldn’t be too concerned.

Can anyone else confirm that there is in fact an institutional grant that will be added to the scholarship merit award that was given to us forthcoming? If so, can you please cite a source?

@polarbearpaw123 - Congrats on the awesome award. Do you mind sharing your stats and also whether you were expecting any need-based aid or if that is all merit? Thanks!

How do you check financial aid / awards?

Accepted with a 40K scholarship

@biblee apparently some candidates have a link at the bottom of their acceptance letter directing them to their financial aid award. Others don’t (yet). This caused confusion the last 2 years and many got financial aid award later…

Candidate’s Choice is BS. My son applied through that and there isn’t any difference between that and the regular application. It’s a marketing tool. My son was wait listed for Engineering with 1400 SAT and 3.8 unweighted/4.6 weighted. So nice to be dangled.

This was the last S was waiting on. S was offered waitlist but probably won’t take it, at this point. 3.9GPA, 31 ACT (32 superscore), heavy EC and volunteer, strong rec and essays; Computer Science major
