Official Sat I Discussion

That was experimental. We (the math experimentals) didn't get that.

my test was verbal, math, verbal, math, math, math, verbal so i think my test had an experimental math section not a verbal section. im hoping the 5th section was the experimental one cuz i skipped a math problem. I dunno it's so weird; no has had my test anywhere on this forum. People are talking about Jane austen and washington and i have no idea what the're talking about. does texas have a 'special' sat test or something? im so confused.

hey, can anyone with 700+ verbal ability confirm answers to much talked-about verbal answers?
Reading comprehension answers'd be helpful.

uh well depends on which form you had, but i could help...i think...

Odd. You must have taken another form then, aside from the norm. Did you have any special conditionals while taking the test?

nope, and if i did then half of the senior class did too, which doesnt make much sense. Because today in art everyone was talking about it, and how it was odd having 3 math sections in a row. ok the reading comps i had were about evolution or something like that, it was a kind of commentary about how some people have a view that species on earth deserve to die if they're not adapted to the environment, and how those people were wrong; rock and roll; and one about how this girl wanted to go to school but her dad didn't want to because he thought she wanted to go to get married, but then she promised to not get married and to graduate.

The vast majority of testtakers had the Woodworth treatise, the BAS stuff and the other one which I can't quite remember right now.. oh yeah, the comparison between the cook and the whatnot..

I had four sections of math.. bah

ok why do i have this sinking feeling?? =(
I am going to be really ****ed off if I find out that my school administered the wrong SAT form...

Ouch* Yea. No Rock and Roll...cross my heart...:(

okay, so we pretty much agree that the experimental section for the math experiment was the third section (math)? (I'm also just trying to see how this new site looks.)

Yea. Experimental third section: Math III...the one where it asked: if I had three even consecutive integers whose product's zero, which one of these might be their sum... thank godness that it was experimental....:)

What's the math curve does anyone know? i got like 4 mistakes, i'm still wondering if that's still possible for a 700 at least

Yeah thanks you guys over on the 1st page for confirming my 29 as an answer. I MIGHT have gotten an 800M but I am still not sure. I am pretty sure -1 raw will still be an 800 though........

Do you guys think it's possible for a 770-780 M if I missed one multiple choice (ERR!! The circles!!! shakes fist) and missed the last grid in? Or is there no light at the end of the tunnel?? :(

I'm a private SAT tutor. I can confirm any answers or answer any other questions related to the SAT. Not fishing for business here; just trying to be helpful.

BTW, I wanted to know: have any of you see 200+-point score increases (from one official exam (PSAT or SAT) to a later one or from a self-administered diagnostic to an official exam) purely through self-study? If so, what were your starting and final scores and exact increases, and how many total hours of preparation do you think you put in?

Thanks for your responses. :)

Unruly:

I had the same test, no worries!
No one replied to me when I posted in the other forum.

I am also in Texas, do you think that's something to do with it?

Whats up guys?

Just had a few more answers that I thought we should confirm (if we haven't already), and sorry if this is repetitive.

First off, I emailed my PR tutor, and the correct answer for ETYMOLOGY: WORDS is genealogy:words :), not horticulture: plants.

Did we ever confirm the answer for the two faces?
Was it because he wanted an insight into society or because he anticipated disaster? I put the latter.

Was the answer they made her feel like "she didn’t feel like she had the privilege of participating or being there?"

Does anyone remember the what question the answer choice minute:shrunken was? it was incorrect.

Any answers would be appreciated!

Ride Boarder: I remember putting minute shrunken for an incorrect answer too. I remember it being in the same group of answers as frigid:cold. So, whatever question (joy: ecstacy?) had frigig: cold, had minute, shrunken i think.

net met: oohh ok... cuz I heard somewhere that it was joy:ecstacy and sodden: moist. I remember putting sodden:moist for a Q, but don't remember frigid:cold. Oh well - there's one analogy wrong.

Just a confirmation of my fears: how many people put 1/2 for the k/m (m/k?) question and not 2?
