***Official SAT I June 2013***

Is the consensus for the cylinder and sphere problem 3/2 or 2/3

Can someone please explain how three lines only form a max of 2 obtuse angles… Im pretty sure its 3

wat did u guys get for the writing question that went like this:
“______ is a good place for singers, writers, and for other performers as well”
i said leave it as is

If you don’t understand vertical angles it becomes difficult to explain. Just try drawingit and it’s impossible to have 3. Has to be an even number and obviously isnt 4

I put “and other performers (entertainers?)” because it was the least wordy I think.

How many can I miss to at least get a 600 on math & writing???

Anybody knows, please tell me!

Does anyone remember #33 on the gum paragraph? It was combining sentences and I was stuck between I believe C and D.

D had a semicolon and C used gerunds.

I think I chose the gerunds one.

i have 2 writing questions.

the sentence was something like…

"After servicing all of the fleet’s vehicles, the loud noise had stopped."

Choices were like…

a. After serving every vehicle in the fleet,
b. After serving all vehicles in the fleet,
c. After all the vehicles in the fleet had been serviced,
d. After servicing all the fleet’s vehicles,

I don’t really remember the answer choices perfectly but it was definitely something like those and I ended up choosing C … I don’t remember if that was exactly how it was but I chose the “C” because i think a subject, like the person servicing the vehicles, would have to be after the “After servicing” if that is how the sentence was arranged… but the tenses seem off so i don’t know…what’d you all say?

2nd question i forget the sentence of, but the choices were:

a. during which (no error)
b. which
c. where

what’d you all say (if u remember what i’m talking about)?

Like so much in this country, they have turned out to be—yes, she might as well admit it—a disappointment.

What tone does the “yes, she might as well admit it” have? was the question
I said that it was denial because she was denying the fact by not admitting that her grand children are disappointments.
But, people are saying that it might be one of the other answers, what was the consensus on that?

bhchamp:
It was definitely C. Because servicing refers to whatever comes after the comma, which in the original sentence was “the loud noise”. That doesn’t make sense but if you change it to C, then you’re saying that after all the vehicles were taken care of, the noises stopped.

I can’t remember the second question you’re referring to…sorry :/

@indianboy222 the consensus is resignation

@cupcakes1213 that’s what i thought. thanks :)

also…

did we decide “in hopes to generate” was incorrect or no error?

and anyone remember the sentence with “during which” ?

the question with the obtuse angles was 3 because if there were 6 angles the total number of angles would total up to 540. 540 - 91(3)= 287, enough for 3 more acute angles.

@bhchamp:
yep! it should be “in hopes of generating”

omg what happens if i had writing on my answer sheet?
i can’t remember if i erased it or not :o

@bhchamp
for the second one i put A, it had to do with computer part fixing
but since the word they used was not a place or object i assumed it was a time period
thus i think only A fit

@doctorv and others who think the angle one is 3, please learn math. This question has been explained so many times on here I’ve lost count. It’s 2. It has to be an even number. It HAS to be an even number, by the laws of geometry. Vertical angles. They come in pairs. Pairs = multiple of 2. 3 is not a multiple of 2. At least draw it out on paper before you try to assert the answer is 3 angles.

Okay so has anyone reached a consensus on how many no errors there were from 12-29 in the writing section?
Also what about section 10?
This is what i’m thinking so far.

The bicycle one, navajo, and #28 were no error from #12-29
And in section 10 there was either 2-3 leave as is (no error) answers.
Anyone correct me if i’m wrong?

lol @ studentinhs

oldschoolboy - For 12-29 people have said they got 3 no errors but I got 4. I can’t remember what the 4th one was though… I’m kind of scared because I’m usually pretty solid on error ID.

I’m hoping that people just don’t remember the 4th one lol idk

btw, #29, not 28 was no error I’m pretty sure
