What's better to take Math I or Math II I honestly don't know the difference.

math II is trig/pre-calc based, while math I is pretty much the same as the SAT I in subject test form. math II is more advanced and therefore considered 'better', but nothing is wrong with I

Math Level II: 760:(:(
US History: 720:(

Hmm, guys should I retake either of these two tests if I'm going for Harvard SCEA or are they "good enough"??? I honestly thought I aced the Math test and I don't know what the hell went wrong...seriously I thought I got 2-3 wrong on Math Level II at the most. Grr...

Chem - 740

should I retake?

I am applying for Cornell-level colleges.

Please reply, thanks*

Math II:790
Chem: 790
Bio: 790
omg so close

andrew_w : i was pretty happy about my chem score too until i saw what some of these cc scorers were getting. bottom line is...don't be too influenced. be proud of what you got and only ask yourself if you want to retake them or not.

Sweet, thanks ivyracer. I dont think Ill retake--what would an extra 20 points really do for me, anyway?

madamebovary: yeah you were really close, it must be frustrating.

Math II 800
US History 800
Physics 790

Peeved over the 790 only b/c I'm waaay better in Physics than in History. But I did a lot of stupid things and must've missed by 1 or 2 Q's.

Math 2c: 800
Chemistry: 770
US History: 730 :( (bleh im retaking June)

The funny thing was that my parents asked me what I got right after the May SAT II and I said 800 Math, 770 Chem, 730 USH and I was right on the money all three times lol

680- USH (a tad lower than my 730 and 770 practice tests..)
710- Chem (ironically I didn't prep for this one at all...)

Ugh. I guess I'm neutral. Sat II scores won't make or break you since they have less to do with intelligence than the quality of your respective curriculum. Bottom line- Cornell and Georgetown better love me anyway... = )

Biology- 760

Okay, i guess.

USH 760 :)

Nevermind the other two I took...I'll retake them. This is the only one I care about.

USH - 690.

Eh, I'm happy with this score. :)

how much do SATIIs matter? i got 720 math 740 us 770 lit and aiming for ivies - i assume i need to retake the 1st two?

for those of you who took chemistry, how long did you prep, and most importantly which book(s) did you use?

do your score reports tell you how many you guys missed to get your score? if they do, then we can compile a potential scoring table for the may administration. (i'm particularly interested in physics and chem curves)

thanks

you dont need to retake for ivies if you got over 700! SAT is only one factor, and if you have a 720 or an 800, its not really gonna matter. Like i said, Harvard gives you a academic rank of 1 if you have 5 SAT tests (SATI counts as three plus two subjects) over 700. There is no point in retaking!

omg i didn't know that. But wait, don't they ask for 3 SATII's? 3 sections of the SAT I and 3 subject tests add up to 6??

right. but they count the top 5

quoted from 'The Truth about Harvard" by Dov Fox
"The highest academic rating of one is reserved for students who rank first or second in their class, score over 700 on at least 5 SAT tests, score a 4 or a 5 on at least three AP tests and show academic intiative outside the classroom. Academic ones are virtual locks for admission."

Everyone should buy this book.
