do you guys think that the sparknotes tests are accurate?

^ I heard that they're harder than the actual test. They say you can add 110 on the score they give you.

About the October test...
I ran out of time and skipped 5 at the end. I thought my life was over.

thanks sofiac. hopefully that is true, because i just took a test from there and got 690, haha. adding 110 points would be great.

has anyone else taken sparknotes tests?

the sparknote was easier than the real sat....in my opinion

That's my opinion as well.

did you get your score back already? was it a lot different from the sparknotes score?

No...we're just guessing haha. Scores don't come out until the 25th.

oh okay. i thought you might have taken the test earlier than october. how do you think the test went for you? ive heard that there is always a lot of random questions on it.

There were! I'm not sure I did well at all...I definitely skipped 7 questions and got at least another 7 wrong haha. I'm aiming for 700+ on this test. The curve's supposed to be really generous though =

yeah, how many can you miss and still get 800? do you know?

I'd also be interested in hearing the average/usual curve for the US history SATs.

I believe you can skip 18 for a 750. That's all I know...

Google "U.S. History SAT II Sparknotes" for the curve.

Wow, not bad.

are the random questions mostly related to art? like literature and stuff like that?

yeah they ask you about random authors and painters and movements. sometimes speeches too, but this may not be so random for you if you live in the states. for a canadian (me) it was just like 'um. i dont really care if abraham lincoln said this at gettysberg or at his second inaugural speech. now really.' hah.
