SIGH THE LAST FIFTEEN QUESTIONS ):

Well! How did you guys find it?? haha..

GAH, I hated those last questions. I answered 47-50, but 37-46 were killer kinda. I hope the curve is 42 or 43 though, then I should be ok, but I'm still retaking for sure.

Yeah me too! My last one was right. Second last I dunno... I did those at the superrrr last minute. ): ): ):

Ayy why retake! What are you aiming for!

I thought I did ok but i definitely rushed through the end problems so i don't know. i'm so mad cuz i forgot to bring a watch which sucked because i couldn't see the clock and the proctor never updated us on how much time was left. i left 3 blank (#35, 36, and 7 i think). did anyone get .76 for the last one? and like 322 for the surface area of pet's dish one? i think i'm gonna retake too. i already signed up for it in november. do you guys think the curve will be generous or no?

argh!

I got a diff. one I THINK. ):
NOOOOOO
Which option was 233
And yeah that for the prob question

I came in expecting a really tough test (going by the Barron's standard) but I thought, overall, it was relatively easy. I left out the pet's dish question, didn't have enough time for it, but answered everything else and I'm almost a hundred precent positive I aced them all.

The answer to the last question was 1 - (0.6 x 0.4) = 0.76

Gosh this was my first time taking it and I skipped 13... that's terrible! Time was a huge problem for me.

I got trapped on the percentile question (Rosa). Was her score between Paolo and whoevers?

Ohhhh my how did you do the sinx=t question!
And what was your diceee thing!

Haha yeah I did Barron's tooo.

Yup it was (the Rosa question)

Rosa's percentile was between J and P

The dice question, probability was 14 / 36 (Ans. D)

I don't remember the 'sin x = t' question. Remind me and I'll give you the answer.

i prepared with barron's as well but by prepared I mean that I bought the book a week ago. On the practice tests i would get on average a 680 cuz i never would get to the last 10 problems. The collegeboard test was definitely easier but i don't really know how i did cuz when i rush i'm prone to making stupid mistakes mostly from not reading the question correctly.

i skipped the sinx=t question (that one said if sinx=t then what does tanx equal in terms of t.) but yeah i got 14/36 for the dice one. I got the rosa question wrong. what about the heart beat question where there's one heartbeat per period? (i put 60 cuz the period for sin(2pi t) is one and t is in seconds so if there's one beat per second, then there's 6o in a minute. i literally spent like five seconds on the question tho so i don't know)

Yeah me too.. I was supposed to take SAT I but switched to SAT II about 4 days ago. So only had time to do about one diag test + one pract test per subject. SIGH. Bloody probability question, did it again and got that ans! Arghh I wasn't thinking straight ):

Sulks. OK I shall try not to dwell any longer! This is terribleee.

I got a 720 last June with 10-12 skips, and I skipped 4-6 (i don't remember exactly) this time, so I am hoping for 780+. I knew it was either C or D on question 49, and I had about half a second to decide, and I picked the wrong one, which I realized as soon as he said "pencils down." Surface area was like 324ish, not 394.

For the life of me I can't remember the answer for the 'sin x = t' question, but all I remember is that there was a short-cut to solving it. The heartbeat question, I think the answer was 120.

Eravial08, how did you calculate #49? I only had enough time to calculate it once and I didn't get any of the 5 answers so I skipped it.

i think i got 120 for the hb one too
and for the sinx=t one, i remember getting something like 1/sqrt(1-t^2) or something... i rememeber using (sint)^2 + (cost)^2=1 to solve it..

for the sinx=t
if you know SOHCAHTOA
then o/h = T/1
so a= SQRT(1-t^2)
so tan (TOA) = t/SQRT(1-t^2)

LZfan:
Surface area of outer wall of dish (like cylinder) + SA of bottom (circle) + SA of bowl (half SA of sphere)

circumference x height + pi r squared + 4pi r squared /2

9pi x 5 + 4.5squared pi + (4)(1/2)4.5squared pi

=332.2 sqin

So I arrived at the test center and could not find my calculator ANYWHERE. My mom rushed home to look for it while I waited. The test coordinator was so kind, though. He just went into the school math office and got me a spare ti-83. My mom then came back with my calculator (which had been under the front seat in the car) and since the test hadn't started yet, the coordinator brought it to me in the classroom.

What a way to start off a SAT test. :P

why is the heartbeat question 120? Can someone explain it to me?

And yeah thats what i did for the pet's dish question.

What was the question for #49?

Also there was one that had 5 letters and 5 numbers and you had find out how many different combinations there were. i got 5! x 10!/5!

Yup that's what I got for the combinations question.

Thanks for the pet's dish explanation. Strange enough that's JUST how I did it but for some reason I wasn't getting the correct answer. Oh well, it won't affect my score.

As for the heartbeat question, I don't remember the exact question, but I think all you had to do was substitute a given value in the questions into the function.
