Official SAT Subject Test - Biology E/M - June 2015

Because it said “most vitamins”. Most vitamins do not do that.

Does anyone else remember the lung capacity and most conserved gene question? I do not remember those at all.

@soporificpeafowl could you elaborate on the lung capacity one?

@asiankid88 lol well idk if you agree with me on my statement, but what they want is plain stupid. I understand having the ability to take tests in a fast manner is looked upon, but that gives a huge disadvantage to those who are smart but are slow paced when taking tests. I guess we just have to keep practicing and enhancing our test taking skills.

@asiankid88 He may have had a different test?

when you say most conserved gene, could you mean the question that asked which gene that should be checked to differentiate between animal, plant and bacteria? If you are referring to this question, it is rRNA

@RybkaShredder Right. It was 0, 0, 0, 6, 18 right? For the other question (about which one to use for human relationships) did you say the one where there were 3 differences between the humans?

I don’t know what he means by the lung capacity though.

@CGlynn I don’t remember that question, but I probably put that.

I don’t remember any lung capacity question

@RybkaShredder But the rRNA was 0, 0, 0, 6, 18 right?

@CGlynn yes it was

@AnniiT I whole heartedly agree. I hope the Ivy Leagues and highly selective schools understand this, and won’t make a big fuss between a 700 and an 800.

I feel like I won’t get a 700 after taking about the test… Whatever, I guess that I’ll just take it next year.

@soporificpeafowl There was something about how people at high altitudes differ from people at low altitudes and what adaptations they might acquire. Vital lung capacity was a choice but the correct answer is more red blood cells.

@Asiankid88 They won’t lol. Anything that is 700+ is brilliant. Be glad that you are freaking out over a 700 because I probably got a score lower than that.

@iequalsmart same here man. I thought I was the only one who felt that way lol. Do u think it’s worth it to take it again? Wouldn’t it be better to take a different subject?

Wait so guys was the answer question about marsupials and placental mammals the one that said something about underdeveloped young?

@theflash123 yup, the answer is undeveloped young

@asiankid88 that was the same one about the gestation period, right?

Yeah, I think that the choice was long gestation and under developed young.

@AnniiT , I took this test after only 10 days of studying, and I didn’t take AP/IB bio yet, so I think that I will do it again. I’ll probably also do math and physics.

Why wouldn’t the marsupial answer be the answer choice regarding ‘outside embryo-sacs’ in marsupials and inside ‘embryo-sacs’ in mammals?

Also, what’d you guys put for the one question that asked which animals would likely not be in the same food pyramid?

@mochilate1897 The one with wolves in it…forget the other animal (deers maybe)? Wolves are carnivores and mostly eat other animals (2nd or above consumer), while deers are herbivores and only eat plants (only 1st level consumer).
