@JuicyMango Yea I also think that the Barrons scores might be a bit lenient but still they test on a lot of stuff that you might not even see on the really CollegeBoard test.
How much of qualitative chemistry are we supposed to know? Is simply memorizing the flame colors enough?
@JuicyMango This is going to be my first time taking a CollegeBoard SAT Subject Test. So far the scores I got using the Barrons book are:
Diagnostic Test (halfway through my sophomore year, so I didn’t know jack): like a 14 raw score: 480
Reviewed the entire book
Test1: 670 I got raw score i think 48
Test2: 700, I got raw score I think 56
Test 3: 720, I got raw score I thik 60 something like that
Test 4 (right now): I got raw score 75 and an 800.
@YoohooAddict Thanks! So all topics are mentioned in Barron?
@guy6127 got a 790 on that same test. I finished I made a few dumb mistakes but also finished 20 minutes early so I’m really hoping PR is indicative of the real test.
@tina23 I don’t know if all the topics are mentioned in Barrons because I haven’t taken the CollegeBoard test. But I’ve heard from lots of people that it teaches you everything you need and a bit extra in case I guess. Good luck.
Help on flame tests and colors?? Where should I look for them??
!!
Are there going to be a lot of things on organic chem? It’s too much to remember! I’m stressing out :((
Also is there a PDF link to the collegeboard test? Or do we have to do it online?
I just did the CB’s Chem practice test and got a raw score of 80. I feel doomed. Why is that curve so terrible?
Should I study on Barron’s or Princeton Review? I have only a few hours and want to study but can’t do both.
@tina23 No. As far as I know there will be a maximum of 3-4 questions on organic chemistry. It might not even show up. You should just skim through the chapter in Barron’s at this point.
@Synonyms Uggh! I know.
@mothrana Go for PR. It’s compact and you’ll cover more than you would with Barron’s.
Can someone please tell me if descriptive chemistry in Barrons’s is important?
Or is it enough if i go through sparknotes?
Some good stuff here…

About how many questions can you miss to get a 750 or a 770?
@idkschool Probably 7-9.
@OnAHyperbola Thank you so much!!
I’m freaking out because I’m still on Chapter 7 in the Barrons Book :/.
