Official SAT Subject Test Scores - December 2010

^ Your dad came in during the test?

Haha no… that would have been embarrassing. :stuck_out_tongue: He scolded me the night before, right when I was reviewing… there went one hour of study time…

yeah, what do you guys think of schoolisfun’s guide? Is it good? I already have Barron’s but haven’t finished going through that yet. I’m aiming for 800 (been getting low 700s on Barron’s practice tests)

Seriously, study it! It was literally the only thing I read prior to the test and it got me a 790. I’m currently doing an independent study for Calc BC, so definitely no pre-calc material there…

“Umm, that’s a bit excessive, but it worked, so congratulations to him!”

Ummm, since he only found two books, not really. (Frankly, I’m not so sure he looked that hard. ;)) Btw…I see from some of your other posts that you also endorse doing many practice tests as a means to build “mental stamina”.

Wow, speaking of… How does one accumulate over 1800 posts in less than a year? I’m honestly impressed. I’ve been on CC since 2004 and haven’t broken through the 2000 mark…:)

^2004?? wow what grade were you in back then, or are you a parent?

I enjoy posting on CC, that’s for sure. I finally found a site where I can post intelligent thoughts/ideas and not be ridiculed or asked, “What the hell does that mean?”

Could someone reference me to the guide someone mentioned created by schoolisfun for Math Level II please?

Go here for the download link:

Thanks a bunch for the prompt reply.

Would you guys say studying that alone and taking a few practice tests would be sufficient? Or should I delve into a book like Barron’s?

Well, considering the fact that I haven’t touched Pre-Calc in almost two years and mainly only used that guide as a study tool at the last minute, I’d say the guide is enough :p

rainbow…as my name “ldmom06” indicates, I am a parent member. (Did you not know that CC was created for parents and students?) I joined when my first child was preparing to apply for colleges. That child is now a proud UNC-CH alum. Now, my last child begins the journey. I’ve also worked in college admissions at a small engineering school… though it was long, long ago ;).

I included my son’s scores and study methods to assist those who are preparing for the SAT subject exams. For the Math L2, he had great results studying only previously missed problems and doing as many practice exams as he could get his hands on. As many will agree, time gets usually pretty crunchy in that exam so building speed is really helpful.

I did not post my son’s scores/study methods for some sort of vicarious recognition from posters who have already successfully mastered the exam. The post is to help those who intend to take the exam in the future.
