Tornado, you should definitely apply in the future! I’m hopeful, but after listening to all of the amazing people on this board who applied, I’m starting to realize just how competitive the pool is!

I agree with Dream–from everything I’ve read, USC focuses on creativity more than stats. I think this is awesome. I’ve heard so many stories of applicants having LORs from people high up in the industry and still not getting in. I think it’s great that USC evaluates talent rather than solely stats and the status of LOR writers. It helps disprove the theory that “it’s all about who you know.”

March 10th. Freshman should be hearing in the next week or so! Good luck to everyone on here, I really hope we all get in and will get to meet each other on campus!

@losthe–makes perfect sense that you wouldn’t think to ask questions about acceptance. You were just enjoying the moment! As you should be!!
Good luck to everyone!!

Someone in the Admission Decisions thread just posted that their friend who applied for Film & Television Production (GRADUATE, not undergraduate) just got a rejection email. Looks like they’re possibly finishing up SCA graduate decisions…

Any internationals applied to sca and have no gotten a DHL thing? haha just curious. because I have not and it seems a lot of internationals are

Haha, No Email from DHL. I’ve been reading before how SCA applicants get their letters later than other USC students so I wouldn’t worry too much just yet.

HEY GUYS! I just got my (F)UCLA rejection. I was sitting here watching Entourage and my little gmail screen told me I had a new email. I noticed that it was from them so I finished the rest of Entourage before opening it up and confirming what I’d already figured.

"Dear dreamupsided0wn:

After careful review of your application for admission, we regret to inform you that we are not able to offer you admission for the Fall Quarter 2010. UCLA continues to receive more applications for admission than we can accommodate in our freshman class. For fall 2010, we received more than 57,000 applications for 4,690 available spaces for freshmen.

Each application is unique, and each student presents wonderful attributes and potential. Our work is extraordinarily difficult: admission officers thoroughly review each application and blah blah blah"

I didn’t get into UCLA either. But I’m not too surprised. With an 8% acceptance rate, I would have been absolutely shocked if I got in. Besides, with all the problems happening with the UC system I wouldn’t have been too thrilled to go there. Hopefully we’ll hear good news from other colleges soon–like USC!

Yeah, even if I had gotten into UCLA I wouldn’t have been able to go. Their tuition is higher than my mom’s salary and the UC system is taking quite a hit right now.

It isn’t an 8% acceptance rate - they accept about 20% - 22% and have about a 30% yield which gets them down to about 4700 students. Many of those accepted choose to go elsewhere (like USC!).
