My son’s status changed to forwarded on 3/25 and hasn’t changed since.

He had what seems to me a very strong application: his films have screened all over the place including out of the country; his admission film has recently been accepted to several youth festivals–the cinematography was really beautiful.

He has good grades and SAT scores, and some awesome letters of rec about his filmmaking abilities in particular.

Anyway, if he isn’t a good production candidate, I don’t know who is–yet he’s still on “forwarded” and the backdoor links don’t work. So maybe I’m just a deluded mom–or maybe you can’t read too much into any of this until you have an actual letter in your hand.

He got into NYU film and may choose to go there regardless of what he hears from USC. The lure of NYC may just be too much for him, as a California kid.

Keep your hopes up, kids…especially you, Dream!

I am so done with all of this. It is very, very frustrating to read that everyone is able to get into their information someway (I don’t begrudge that)-I am not sure why I can not access anything other than the links related to financial aid. At least you all are able to get information on the USConnect site. Sorry for grumbling. I am sure it is an IT glitch on their end, but I am afraid to call them and ask them anything for fear they will get MAD at me…ya, I have OCD issues LOLOL.

They won’t get mad at you! But they probably also won’t fix it. They will just tell you to wait. Sigh. Feel free to grumble - you’ve earned the right!

And you mentioned that you’re a writer so your essays were the strong part of your app… same with me. Basically, 'sup doppelganger.

Mom: Thanks. You are right, they didn’t fix it when my mom called them 3 weeks ago and brought it to their attention They just tell you the party line, April 1st etc. My Part II app says that stuff is missing (i.e., freshman stuff) but SCA said they had all of the documents. I have not every spoken to my USC general admissions counselor… It is just frustrating that I did have (under OASIS) a forward for committee review last Monday and now that is even off the site, so I have no info anywhere.

@Malik - well, she goes to a private school so they’re probably allowed to have one haha. At my PUBLIC school there are these kids who meet every Monday morning and have “prayer circles” which take up an entire hallway and are pretty annoying. We talked about religious stuff and its constitutionality in AP Gov and my teacher said that they’re technically not allowed to do that since we go to a public school and that if someone really wanted to complain about it they’d all get in trouble. I don’t really care enough to, but nice to know huh? XD

@dream- yeah im in Concert Band, Concert Choir, JAzz Band, Jazz Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and A Capella Choir. And I have my won independent A Capella choir outside of school haha.

And im part of two theatre groups. My school theatre, and a local community theatre.

Maybe since Flint was accepted we’ll all be accepted because we’re the SAME PERSON

@jkain - it’s true! Colleges never reject sets of twins… one of my friends is in SCA and she said there are two twin brothers who are both in Production. AND I read on another forum that one qualified person got into Stanford and their unqualified twin got in as well. I mean, how could you accept one twin but not the others? Isn’t there a group of quintuplets at Yale or something?

That would be nice, Dream, if it was true. I’m a twin and UCLA and Berkeley rejected me but both accepted my brother. They were the only schools out of the 11 schools I applied to that rejected one of us. Another reason why the UC’s can suck it.

Edit: Not that I care though! I mean, USC was my #1 and sent in my deposit weeks before I heard back from them. :P

@malik - just be happy you’re not going to bRuin your life. Where is your twin headed?

@Flintlock - gotta catch 'em all, as they say.

@everyone -
